Talking Heads - (Nothing But) Flowers -

Talking Heads is an American new wave band (l975-1991). The song, “Nothing but flowers” comes from their last album, “Naked” (1988)
This song is a satire in that the lyrics are expressing a pretty exact opposite to any song that would place the presence/importance of nature/simplicity in our lives ahead of the advances of modern life as we see it now. It is often mentioned as a direct contrast to Joni Mitchell's song, Big Yellow Taxi. That's why I agree with many others that it's a clever satire.
“Talking Heads” is a term used in the TV industry. On news shows, for example, it refers to the camera’s focus on the head and upper shoulders of the newscaster. As a result, the head appears disconnected from the body. The band created its name from this term.

i am 15 years old and when i was little my dad gave me an i pod with all the talking heads songs on. loved it and all there music. only just rediscovered there music a few week ago. amazing tunes!!!!!! soundtrack of my childhood!!!!

My Dear Sister EileenML: One of my nephews-who, like his 2 brothers & 2 sisters, also refers to me as his “spiritual big brother”-met a beautiful, young, intelligent, Half-Māori woman from NZ 🇳🇿 around the middle of this year. Turns out, this is one of her favorite ❤️ songs (Talking Heads also happen to be one of her favorite 🤩 American 🇺🇸 music artists.). My future niece-in-law-Mirabelle-wants this song as part of her’s & Kazzy’s [my nephew/“spiritual kid brother”] playlist for their wedding reception 🖤🤍💚

wow this is brilliant man. Amazing stuff it fits so perfectly to such a great amazing song. Those that like this song and go to the levels you did to pay it homage, are those that in my minds eye, are those among us who dance between the raindrops. Thanks! My mother went to RISD with two of them I think, she said she'd often sit and just listen to them jam on College Hill in Providence RI.... I grew up on a tour bus, i'd rather not say with what band, but I'm pretty well versed in all avenues of music genres; but Talking Heads, and more specifically Byrne are the cornucopia of pure, raw talent in performance, writing and melody, that that broke the mold.

Not many flowers...but TONS of trees!!! Very creative vid...liked the images a lot. Talking Heads are an all-time favorite of mine....especially for workouts....their typically frantic pace keeps you moving!
