Not sure if this was mentioned, but Talking Heads drummer Chris Frantz played the Ozzy Osbourne character, the Hank Williams-style country-and-western singer and the sports fan with WILD WILD LIFE on his baseball cap. Tina Weyworth (Talking Heads bassist) played a society lady (not sure which one), the lady who rips off her wig to reveal a bald head, and the woman dancing with the Prince cosplayer.

But that’s just it: David Byrne is not “weird” or trying to be . . . you are witnessing unrestricted genius. There are those who try to harness WEIRD for affect. @@zaidaali4688 -- I don't think we disagree. When I said, "dare to be weird", I could have been saying, "dare to be themselves." This video summarizes my entire MTV experience watching it as a kid during its early years from early to mid-1980's. Love all the parodies of popular acts at the time.

In 1977, I had a subscription to Creem mag and they interviewed Andy Warhol. He said the best album he's heard is, Talking Heads 77. I went and bought it. Been a fan of the band ever since. Thx Andy.

This song has one of the best concepts, the way it developments, changes keys, modulates, etc. Great songwriting. Nonsense lyrics were part of the character.

Talking Heads were truly one of the most original and creative bands rock has produced, both sonically and visually. It's a way overused word, but I do think they were brilliant.

I was in a band called Rick Berlin- The Movie. Rick was signed to Epic in the seventies with Orchestra Luna, They often played CBGB's, where the Talking Heads opened for them. Later they had Karla DeVito, whom Jim Steinman stole for Meatloaf's Bat Out Of Hell. Anyway, Rick said that David Byrne did a lot of acid, and "boy , was he weird". I always think of that, because they were all weird then. It's on KZbin. We were more commercial but less successful, oh well, I wasin the Karla DeVito spot, it was crazy fun, Rick still does gigs in Boston. We were on Mtv at least, witha song called People Live, witha Baptist choir. Im in the white dress. Easier to find under Steven Paul Perry, Good old 80's!!

My mom was almost an extra in this movie. They filmed the fashion show in Dallas' northpark mall. Her place of work at the time was visible in the background but she was sick and couldn't attend.
