I have nine unfinished Models on On me workbench 😀 most of them are short run Kits, type Special hobbies, MPM, Octopus, and Resine kits. I like odd models That no one of the big companies cares about, in front of me I have a William Brothers Gilmores Red Lion that is an awesome racing plane from the thirties 🤓

Happy new year Chris. The trumpeter submarine, is it the type VII? If so is it worth getting? As I want to build a HMS Graph and haven’t seen a decent review on the Trumpeter type VII. Cheers and keep up the good work.
@beckersmodels Жыл бұрын
Indeed its the new tool Trumpeter Type VII - comparable to Revell's, but a bit more fiddly because of the PE. I will try to finish it as it will only take an hour or so of bench time to get it over the line ready for primer. Cheers, Chris

Sounds good as for me I like to beat my head against something till I win... Like I just got a ton of little 3mm scale tanks to practice my painting on just do my style on each and as they are small I can knock them out quickly unlike the 13 hours I've sunk into 1, 40mm scale tank and I feel I'm only half way and the paint is getting thick from my mistake of going near 0 brush skill to uh some... But yeah it's worked for my writing, Pixel/3D art, games and music... It can be slow at times but man does it work. Which could you do videos showing your progress on your methiod? I would love to watch them!
@beckersmodels Жыл бұрын
Yep Ill be filming the whole process, but might take me awhile to get some videos up, I'm working solid for the next month or so - cheers Chris

Hey Chris, thought that might be spreading the vegemite to thin down under :-) Just reentering the game I here your frustration, First there are so many kits and not enough time and I'm retired. Next, sounds odd I think the model makers are part of the problem. They are making so many models of everything, then they are making everything in mansize scale with tons of detail, which increases the need for new techniques, new supplies and ancillary kits to tie in. . So I feel your frustration. However you've got some natural artistic talent and sounds like a stash you can experiment with. Speaking of stash, you had a great build out going on a Navy helicopter, is that still a go? In the " old days" the kits had those plastic stands with the slot for the fuselage, maybe there is some kind of evolution of that you can't work on, however your current technique is great. I'll be standing by to catch any video ya make because I need all the help I can get and think you've got a great passion for the hobby. BTW I think your tank girl is still my favorite :-) Plus that 3D printer. Looking forward to whatever videos you make in 2023. Feel free to have Penny give you some help, she's a sweetheart. Cheers and Happy New year , " Bob", my second incognito after Thunderpig .
@beckersmodels Жыл бұрын
Gday Bob - thanks again for your great comments - and yes the stash is the experiment I guess! Yes, the Super Stallion is still a go, I'm hoping to do a little more very soon. The 3D printer will be put through its paces to design some modern versions of those flight stands. Will give Penny a pat for you! Cheers, Chris

13:30 When you say your intention is to 'not finishing a single kit next year", what you're modeling yourself on is a 1970's British car worker. You should make yourself a stand that says that and enter yourself into competitions, but on the day, go on strike.
