Genuine question do any of you actually use up your palettes? I still have the first one and I cant imagine it finishing anytime soon... My rule is to not re-buy anything I still have.

that is a really good rule to have! and no...i have never actually used up any eyeshadow palette before (and i wear eyeshadow like 95% of the time i put on makeup). The closest I've gotten was hitting pan on a few shades in the tartelette in bloom palette as well as the anastasia beverly hills shadow couture palette and that's because i had them since 2015/2016 and used them the most out of all my palettes

Nope! To give you reference, I still have the OG chocolate bar from too faced that I bought in 2017 before they discontinued it. I want to start panning my palettes and looking up old tutorials has helped me resist the urge to not buy more palettes! But with the naked palette I made an exception since I never owned the original and I didn't have any cool toned eyeshadows in my collection.

Same! I was too young when it came out originally. And I didn’t gravitate towards the neutrals cz I wanted the crazy colors as I was so young lol. But am older and would really enjoy this palette.

I went to my local Ulta to test it out and I think it's a great palette for smokey eye, grunge, and soft glam looks. I never owned the original naked so I was glad they brought it back (plus I used my points to purchase it). I also don't have cool toned eyeshadows so I saw it as a great addition to my collection of warm, colorful, and sultry palettes. With that being said, I agree that we should be more critical of our makeup purchases, especially with overconsumption being a prevalent issue today. As an eyeshadow junkie, it's hard to resist the temptation to add another palette to my collection but I have to remind myself that the current ones I own are plenty enough. Your commentary motivates me to pan my palettes, unless another palette comes out that catches my eye (no pun intended)!

Yay for points! I fully believe people should buy whatever they truly want if they have the means to, and if they've thought it through thoroughly and know that it will add value to their lives (like how you did when you stated that you don't currently have cool toned eyeshadows). That's where I often fall short, I think I really really want something but when I let that want sink in and marinate, I can often talk myself out of buying something - so how much did I REALLY want it to begin with? It's also nice to have a community to bounce your thoughts off of and talk you out of buying something in a world that seems to be trying to sell to you constantly - so I'm glad I was able to motivate you to pan your palettes (even if another one catches your eye)!

@@ireeesebeautyy thanks for the feedback! I actually think that your ability to talk yourself out of buying something and question whether you truly wanted it is a strength. Not many people have the ability to do that. I’ve used this technique to stop myself from buying clothes (and makeup) I don’t need. Plus I think that the de influencing content I see in the online space helps with getting people to realize that less is more.

I think even if I had kept my older palettes, I wouldn't be as enticed either. I think they're definitely using the FOMO marketing tactic for this re-release and it got me considering if I wanted this as well!

I caved and bought it because I couldn't afford it the first time🥲I really hate how brands prey on FOMO and I've heard it's not ass good as the first OG version; price wise, color wise, formula wise and size wise (you get less for more). I've heard its leans warmer which even with my medium skin tone, I still prefer cooler tones. I'm expecting to be disappointed but I got FOMO and caved because I wanted it so badly the first time and missed my chance. I bought it *for* the deeper smoky shades because I only do grungy looks

Oh no - I'm so sorry you're feeling that way! I heard that the reformulation was actually better on this palette (see my pinned comment from someone else who bought the re-release) so hopefully you won't be too disappointed when you get it! And the deeper smokey shades from the older palettes, from what I remember, were really great! I thought the palettes were great for grungy looks! I do hate how brands prey on FOMO because I'm a sucker for that marketing technique haha but I hope you do end up loving this palette, especially since you weren't able to get it the first time! ☺️
