What about Dickinson ? Did they want to ban him because his horses finished in the first 5 in the gold Cup? A brilliant achievement for any trainer, but he had to have the bullets to fire at the target. He had 5 live chances in the race, completely over powered all other trainers in Ireland and Britain. He chose his future, but it wasn't because he was omitted from taking part. Or was he ??

Dreadful. Tried to join during the festival...I bank with the Co-Op and not even on their list?!?! Tried my card numerous times and gave up. We shouldn't have a casino biased player (yes I get they are all going that way) sponsoring races and offering deals and enticements they can't deliver. I tried their Web Chat function...my god do they employ some fools.

@@michaelcoleman2061 They were the ones who changed the e/w terms due to horses being pulled up. Suspended accounts and refunded stakes on winning bets. I got £80 out of them then closed my account. They are a disgrace.

We (the punter) don't want bookmakers to have seat on the table. They have to much say, sway & involvement in the sport to be impartial as it is.

Making it less competitive is really going to help with the race to the bottom. When you there all you’ll do is look up. You won’t attract owners from the bottom. Should Ireland and France exclude England from purchasing horses. Pull up your boot straps and work better, train better. The trainers are capable are in the uk, if your not one, drive the lorry and give someone with a bit more hunger the reins.

Crazy right, considering Eng/Scot/Wales have 130 PTP meetings spread over 97 courses with Ireland 300 meetings (flat & Jumps) spread over 24 courses. Now take England's (6) all weather (bookie/exchequer benefit) flat track courses compared to Irelands; (1) Dundalk and you begin to see how todays status quo has unfolded. The going has been a problem for ever. Just look at the going stick readings from meeting to meeting on any day (and I don't mean between flat and jumps, but flat to flat or jumps to jumps) and then what the racecourse is calling the ground officially and the issue is easy to see. It just doesn't add up. There needs to be an official system as currently, I generally don't bet on the first race at most meetings, even at the Festivals, unless I am sure what the ground is and that is rare. If you can't trust the information from the courses, and the sport thinks this is acceptable, what perception is that shouting loud and clear!

Wow, I think most people who bet regularly on racing know that bookmakers behave unethically, but it must be getting really bad to be mentioned here. Well done Luck on Sunday for finally mentioning it Better late than never. Kill the dream of winning money and you kill off a lot of gamblers. A few need to make a profit for the good of the ecosystem, but big bookmakers want it all their own way.

@@frankelforever14 Absolutely, tenderly rode the runner up so Auguste Rodin could win and give Moore his first Irish Derby, he did something similar with Diego Velazquez in a group two race that also got a lot of social media criticism.

Unless stable staff are cared for and allowed every other week off I can see an increase in difficulty in recruiting stable staff if they never have a weekend off because of Sunday racing. There will be no money for bookmakers as there are no staff to care for horses. There will no owners as there will be no stable staff to look after the horses. There will be no racetracks as there will be no stable staff to look after the horses that used to run on those tracks. There will be no racing pundits as there are no stable staff to look after racehorses. The BHA, by allowing Sunday racing, are doing the work of Animal Rising by putting off anyone becoming part of a racing team as they will never get Sunday off.

@@galdessa1 Not all hotels are still open lots have closed due to lack of staff, and many use agency staff at weekends. 'Why not agency staff for racing?' Because stable staff are skilled workers. I think your knowledge of how a racing yard runs may not be that great?
