Great vid. I like to take notes during the year of either mistakes or successes from my lawn. This is the first year I did not have a single big issue with my TTTF. Fungicides were put down on time, soil test was successful (good PH) and I kept my mower blades sharp. I also think having a bigger/better spreader helped out tremendously with getting the fert spread out as opposed to the junk Scotts spreader I used to use. I still say that the single most important thing to do is a soil test. It saves a lot of heartache and money.

My mistake this season has been cutting short a bit early and I should have brought it down slower. I essentially scalped some areas and we are apparently experiencing a record dry October. Lesson learned for sure. Got some good germination in the areas I wanted but we've already had some freezes. We'll see how it goes.

How long should you wait after using a starter fert like greenpop before applying a high nitrogen based fertilizer?
@MrFergusonLawn2 ай бұрын
Good question. It really depends on how heavy you threw down on seeding day, but you will begin to notice the color fading over time. Being a DIY'r, I would tell you to do some good research. Last thing you want to do is over due it and burn the lawn. If that is in question, use something like Milorganite to be extra safe. I'd research it though.I personally go off growth rate and color, but that's me. I go in more low doses than 1-2 high doses.

Mr. Ferguson, do you know if Preemergent will affect the spreading capability of GCI spreader elite?
@MrFergusonLawn2 ай бұрын
I do not. I've not heard of it causing any type of issue with that. It's not something that should negatively affect fescue.

Yes, don’t pre emergent run two rounds of Velocity. After three out four cuts on the babies. It cost, but you will not continue to fight it.

What's wrong with Halloween?
@MrFergusonLawn2 ай бұрын
Well that depends on who you ask. For me and my house, we don't celebrate witchcraft, spirits and horror. We celebrate the Holy Spirit, life, and the one who has power over all things, Jesus! Why celebrate and dress up as things that are under the power of the Lord Jesus? He's the ultimate authority, so it's Him I celebrate. God is good. It's those things not of God that seek to scare, cause fear, torture, evil, etc. Bible says to stay away from such things. A good story to read is about Philip and Simon the Sorcerer in Acts 8:9. 👍 Good question, because not everyone thinks or believes as I do.
@stuckman102 ай бұрын
@@MrFergusonLawn do you allow your kids to dress up and go trick or treating? Just curious because those can be such fun and happy memories for kids. I fully respect your beliefs, of course, but those are your beliefs that you’ve decided on throughout a lifetime of religion, life experiences, etc. I’m just not sure that I want to force my kids to believe something simply because I do. I’d certainly like it if they believe what I do, but I want them to be empowered to make their own decisions on beliefs based on their experiences and research. Just randomly thinking out loud! Again, FULLY respect you and your right to live and parent however you feel is best!

Of course, your psycho. Look at all the experiments that you do. That's one of the reasons we love your video's. So as far as using Prodiamine (Fall) is there a soil temperature that your using? Me & Mr. Poa and still having a problem (I don't overseed). As a side note, since I updated my Monitor to 4K & your videos are in 4k, it makes me feel that I'm right there talking to you, Kudo's! Drive on!
@MrFergusonLawn2 ай бұрын
Haha, thanks William. No soil temp on pre emergent, as mentioned I would do it first week of September just to cover poa beginning to germinate. It likes the fall temps, so even applying now is better than nothing. Some may get through, but some may not.
@williamconlon41832 ай бұрын
@@MrFergusonLawn I thought it was below 70 and above 55 degrees for the fall. I know it's right before 55 degrees in the Spring. Think I got that from Allyn Hayne.
