Has anyone tried the fireball/hatrick perineal ryegrass? If so what did you like or not like about it? I’m planning to overseed with it late this August

Was ARTIMUSS in the line up? A 4 way blend with the top scoring cultivars (no fillers) in one 50lb bag no 40 or 45lbs.. 0% weed seed and 0% crop seeds..

Have you planted gci cool blue next to black beauty ultra? I’m using black beauty now looking to over seed with cool blue. My goal is to have the darkest green what’s your thoughts

I've used Talstar P for several year's now and it's a great product. I used it mostly around the perimeter of our home, on bushes, landscape areas, foundation. It controls mosquitoes, spider's, various bugs from entering the home. Thanks! John.

JG is one of the best. The only thing I don’t like is I noticed after overseeding with it I did get some weird species of other grasses popping up in my lawn which I had to dig out or use non-selective herbicide on.

Nice change of content to get us looking ahead. I’ve been transitioning to Jonathan Green shade fescue over last 2 seasons. I think it has really helped. But I think I may have one section that needs a sun/shade mix to weather the summer a bit better. I plan on using my Sun Joe over entire lawn and a couple sections of rototill to just start fresh. The plan is taking shape. Happy Fourth!🇺🇸

Ive been able to work with turf plots for bentgrass for all cool season and warm season lawns. Mr Ferguson great call!!!! Ppl overlook Jonathan green products. Ive had good luck with my dads back yard shaded area

I like seed talk. It's actually a very good subject. There's so many various "mini-climates" that you really have to adapt to your surroundings.

Jonathan Green Heat & Drought for me here in Climax. My lawn has taken a beating and I want to try this, and see if it looks better than it has this year.

You're gonna like MVS. My front yard is Artimuss blend which is a blend of MVS cultivars and some spots I was concerned about early spring have thickened up and aren't even a thought anymore. Holding up very well so far with just a few struggle spots which I blame on the soil and compaction.

I still have 8 lbs of the Ryan Knorr Elite TTTF seed I got last year, gonna use it all to overseed backyard. I bought the JG Tri-Rye from Ace earlier this year, it came in good in Spring but seems the heat killed it already in spots I put it. So I'm gonna overseed front yard with it in Fall, hopefully it matures enough that it will last through winter & summer next year. I wanna core aerate but don't know how much that will cost. I plan on buying an electric dethatch & scarifier machine soon.

Artimuss TTTF for me this fall. Went with Barenbrug last fallbut it ended up producing seed heads which produce stalks that turn brown not to mention they are rough on the feet.

Is the GCI turf type tall fescue a thin or thick bladed grass? I like thinner bladed grass, and very few seed companies put pictures of the actual grass on their sites.

Obsidian perennial rye blend mixed with blue resilience from twin city seeds for me. More or a less a better version of JG black beauty ultra. Biggest thing for me is adding good soil. The greenest area in my yard that has had any issue is the one I renovated last fall where I brought in a ton of topsoil and sand.

I applied fungicides on 6/9 and should be about ready to apply again. I am pretty certain I now have rust on areas of the front lawn where I have attempted to keep watered enough to keep it from going white. I have nutsedge coming up all around, but I’m afraid to try to treat for it. I’m also seeing common Bermudan trying to invade from my neighbor’s yard and am debating trying to put glyphosate on it, maybe with one of those foam applicators to try to get it without getting my GCI TTTF/KBG. We finally got some rain Sunday evening here in Concord, NC for the first time in almost a month, but not much. I watched the radar as two different fronts got within a couple miles of me and then split, with one passing less than 1/4 mile of me right along the opposite side of the main road. Glad you had a great trip and thanks for the content as always.

Another great video, Mr. Ferguson. My family went on vacation two weeks ago, came back and the yard was fried in some areas. Had to ramp up the water but we've a bit of rain over the last week. I'm due to put out fungicide this weekend and it's going to be so hot. Hope you have a great 4th of July! God Bless!

I don't think most of those spots will survive. There's dormancy, and then there's death. The spots will be toast by the end of the summer without significant consistent watering unfortunately. I'd be shocked if fall came along with the rains and voila, all is good again.

Im in Newport News Va we just got like .5" yesterday ive been watering like crazy it felt good to finally skip 2 30 min 5am irrigation cycles this morning. Im still sitting on a bag of freedom fert from the memorial day sale. Hopefully we get more rain this weekend. One thing i have come to know is you can't trust the weather man.

I just mowed the lawn to 4 inches after a month of not cutting it. It's definitely stressed out. Praying for some rain. Too hot to be applying anything to the lawn right now.

Thanks for sharing. I’m in a similar situation. I’m trying to accept that “cool season” fescue means high heat dormancy. Here in central ca the heat is so high(100-110) even water can’t keep the lawn from stress and dormancy. It will come back and heck, need to remember this is only 2-3 months of a year. So hard to watch though, isn’t it??

We officially ended up with .019" for the "event", but most of that fell after midnight. It was very spotty and as some might say, it was a lot of bark (thunder) and very little bite (rain).

Guess it figures, go on vacation and it rains a lot and when you return it hasn't rained at all. Hope it rains like hell in the next day or two. The yard is struggling but you're well aware of that. Your next mow should be a lot of fun, you'll probably have to make at least 2 passes', each being a little lower. I don't envy you. Good luck Mr. F, it'll come back, just may take a while.

After a 10-day vacation last fall my lawn in northern Louisiana looked like this or worse and I thought it was dead. It didn't come back until late spring and it is fine. This year I am putting down less fert and less water. Do we really need our lawns to look like perfect green carpets?
@chadcochran46546 күн бұрын
Hopefully you got some of that rain yesterday. I finally got just over 2 inches in Clayton. Edit: Oh so it missed you. If only I read your comment before my post. Anyway, I can feel ya... I have gone many years where the storms come to my house, split, and go around me. My church would get 2-3 inches and I would get 0. But... I do have celebration bermudagrass and it stays green no matter what.
