I have purchased your course and am absorbing the processes. I would LOVE it if you would repaint some of the paintings in this sketch book so we can see how you arrived at the final pieces!

Thank you for sharing your process Suzanne. Did you say that you paint the pages of the sketchbooks with gesso first and then paint a background color?
@SuzanneAllardDesign2 жыл бұрын
I'm glad you enjoy it Veronica! I mix gesso with some color and paint the background with the mixture. Usually I mix it right on the pages!

@@SuzanneAllardDesign Thank you for your reply. I didn't know you could mix gesso with paint. I'm still learning about all the different mediums.

what kind of sketch book is that. You mention Moleskine, but I thought their books had pages that are fairly thin? Thanks. Love your video. I am getting inspired.

Hi Sharon, Glad you're getting inspired!! Moleskine has an art journal with mixed media paper and a watercolor paper book. I have links to both and all my faves here: suzanneallard.com/supplies

Thank you for your videos, very inspiring. What do you use for your background colors? It can't be acrylic because you wouldn't be able to paint on it, I'm thinking. But if it was watercolor it might reconstitute some in the process. There is so much to know. Once I get some sense of it I would like to sign up for your classes. Just need to get a sense of what you would cover. Patricia

Oh you can definitely paint over acrylic! That's one of it's best properties!

Hi Suzanne! How do you keep your sketchbook pages from sticking together? Mine tend to stick even after totally dry! Especially because you use oil pastels which never dry. Do you put any kind of varnish on them?
@SuzanneAllardDesign2 жыл бұрын
For sticky pages I use Krylon workable fixative, that way I can continue working on a spread if I like

do you teach how to paint the sketchbook size to a enlarged size? I would love to paint a mural
@SuzanneAllardDesign2 жыл бұрын
wow, that would be large lol. I have not taught that yet but it's a fun idea for a future class!
