Honestly, I think the idea was to say the most outlandish and awkward thing. And when he accepted it, then she could relax and not fear rejection. Like there wouldn't be a fear to say something too silly because you already did that. I love it!

The fact that this has no replies means that the 2,000 people who liked this comment knew exactly what you meant and I just-😂 Or that they watched a good chunk of the video before going through comments which is just wildddd ‘cause that kind of attention?? In this economy??? Ugh so nice.

@@abyblue7287pretty funny cause I graduated from high school and didn’t make a single new friend until I was 25 years old and the main joke we make between ourselves is that we wear diapers. It’s so dumb and our boyfriends hate it. I’m 32 and and she just made the joke again yesterday.

You really did your homework in a deep way and I’m willing to bet that he was sorry to say goodbye because he felt seen. This entire interaction is funny and genuine. I’m super curious how he feels about being seen as a role model or symbol of what a “good man” should look like for millions of young people, and whether the pressure to be good and unproblematic ever feels oppressive to him. This was SO WELL DONE! Brittany coming into the interview immediately with a sense of humor with poking fun at herself and then poking a little fun at the “handsome squidward incident” relieved the tension early on and set the rest of the interview up for success for the rest of the video by allowing both of them to feel more comfortable opening up. And the way brittany could connect with hozier on more niche topics opens up opportunities for more intellectual conversations at some points. Seriously so so so well done!

Brittany you were so well-articulated, composed, intuitive and respectful. The main stream media needs to be taking NOTES. The future generations will accept nothing less than interviews of this stature. Let’s treat the artists that share their incredible art with us as the respected individuals that they are instead of asking them about stupid shit!!!! You are the BLUEPRINT Brittany!!!

That’s why it’s so great to see someone like Brittany get these opportunities. Because we are so used to seeing these phony interviews where the interviewer is pretending to be a fan but actually knows nothing about them.

It’s impressive on her to see how much more comfortable he becomes throughout the interview, it’s like he goes from thinking of Brittany as an interviewer to a friend across a span of 20 minutes.

I am just so proud of Brittany for nailing this opportunity- I can’t imagine how nerve racking that must have been and she was so genuine, stayed so present and asked engaging questions. Such a talent!

This interview is the bomb. Both parties were so relaxed, honest and they were having such a great time, which I really enjoyed. Andrew's interviews are always so intelligent and from the heart. I just hope that there are more to come!

I keep rewatching this interview bc it’s SO GOOD. Brittany is a master of knocking people’s guard down and building instant rapport - and it’s bc she’s so funny and not afraid to make the jokes most interviewers would shy away from. You can tell Hozier sinks into this convo with the ease of a friend bc the stuffiness and pretense of most interviews is just not there at all. A masterpiece.
