Talking to Jonathan Roumie who plays Jesus in The Chosen | The Chosen UK

Eden.co.uk are The Chosen UK distributors and I got to fly to Rome to meet with Jonathan Roumie - the actor who plays Jesus in The Chosen series.
We talked about how he got the role, how he developed his character and why he thinks this is the most important thing he has ever done. Oh, and he is a really lovely guy too!

Loved the questions! Jonathan has such a clean and pure heart. Rising to fame yet no pride. He’s full of goodness and virtues. I know the Holy Spirit comes upon him when he is in character because we feel it but he has so much of Christlikeness in him already that portraying Jesus isn’t even tough for him, he does it so naturally, it looks so effortless. Jonathan is one in a million. A gift from God to us. Love from Pakistan❤️

Hi Galina. I think you are right. There is a lot of Jonathan’s own character in His portrayal of Jesus. I was impressed with his sense of honour and his desire to please the Lord. It is great that The Chosen has reached Pakistan. God bless

Wonderful interview, wish it was longer. Am so grateful that Jonathan is a believer, I believe that he alone can pull this off, no one else could have done such a realistic job. It’s so well done that I feel as if Jesus is in my living room speaking to me. This has catapulted my relationship with the Lord into an authentic one. Very well done! The point made near the end about The Chosen being a way to introduce seekers to Jesus was proven correct in my life a week ago. I suggested a two part "watch party" of season one to my daughter and my 12 1/2 year old grandson. As episode 8 finished, my daughter asked when season two will be ready, and my grandson told her, "I really need to be a better person". I watched the interview with Dallas first and now this one! I so appreciate the thoughtful questions and engaging personality Mark offers.

I have been a Christian my whole life and have been in the ministry so I would consider myself to have a good amount of knowledge of Jesus and his life. But watching The Chosen made things so much more clear and gave a new way to look at things. I have been so excited by it! It would be a great small group thing to study to help people get to know Jesus. Thanks to all who had a part in this.

What a great interview. I just finished watching your interview with Dallas Jenkins, and you asked both Jonathan and Dallas questions that other interviewers have not asked. I appreciate your thoughtful questions of these men. Their responses show theor humility, their dependence upon God and just how committed they are to honoring God through their work... to " getting it right for Him."
