Talking vintage Rolex as a daily wear.

I would personally love to have maybe 2 or 3 vintage Rolex watches. Models from the past like the Rolex Submariner 5513, 1680 or one of quite a few different Rolex GMT models; many with popular nicknames. Providing the watch is serviced and has some water resistance the vintage Rolex can for sure be your daily watch. My rootbeer GMT model 16753 is certainly one of my favorites.

I just inherited 1986 DateJust from my father who passed away and I'm not I bling bling type guy. This was my fathers pride and joy and took very good care of it. He even had the original receipt when he purchased it in the Cayman Islands on a NCL cruise in 1986.

hey, i uset he same exact watch as yours as my daily wear too. i got it from my father who got it from my grandfather. 3 generations use the same watch

Hey Zed, That Rowlecks Root Rotor looks absolutely great. It looks super comfortable on that jubilee bracelet too. I’m looking at a 1979 Omega at the moment and this has given me a bit more confidence in vintage (I’ve got ‘watch chase’ jitters) so, it’s food for thought. Thanks! ✊

1979 was a good year 👍. For whatever reason i much prefer 70s- 80s era vintage.

i have a 1983 Datejust perpetual two tone. Have had it since new. Love my watch. Just had it serviced. Wear it daily for 40 years. Had to replace the band this year due to stretch.

When you buy an old watch do you look for a beat up one? No you look for the best condition you can I assume. Yes an unpolished watch with scratches has a charm and shows the history but the problem is when you sell it the first thing the dealer does is polish the f@ck out of it. It's so hard to find good vintage subs and GMT's now.
