Talking with the Homeless in Waikiki, Honolulu, Hawaii: 1 of 6

In January 2020 I interviewed a number of homeless people in the Waikiki area of Honolulu. While the extent to which the homeless were connected to reality varied, each was told that the conversation was being recorded for the purpose of teaching others about life on the streets in Honolulu. Each homeless person was free to say whatever he or she wished without any contradiction or advice-giving from me.
