@@Starkman99 I said a few weeks ago they should go get India from the Reds. He's not great, but he gets on base and plays a solid 2nd base defense. The Reds have been actively shopping him since the offseason. He would be a nice leadoff hitter and replace Gleyber Torres in the lineup.

This is why I was opposed to trading for Soto. In my opinion we had a better chance of signing him long term as a free agent. The roster just has a lot of problems that aren’t going away any time soon. Eventually Cole was due for an injury as well. The only way this team wins this year is if the young players take on full time roles and play well, but because the Yankees are the worst shepherds of player health and development in MLB, the young players are hurt.

I am glad you all are not just focusing on Gleyber because DJ needs to be bench just as much. All other content providers are taking the easy route and pounding on Gleyber only. Cabrera should start over both DJ and Gleyber. Rice at 1st and Cabrera at 3rd or bring up Peraza to play 2nd. It is Championship or bust this year. No time for low energy players. Peraza is not hitting but his defense and speed can provide more value over Gleyber and DJ. Play Peraza everyday and see what he has, his is the true option within the organization to replace Gleyber after we DON'T resign him. DJ would then become the off the bench guy.

This Boone Cashman death grip on the Yankees organization and you can even throw Hal in there... is the reason for the inability to compete on a consistent basis throughout an entire year. Boone cannot manage unless he has a fleet of All Stars. Once the ship starts to list he has no idea how to straighten it out. He thinks having confidence in someone who's performing poorly will make them perform better, and he sticks to that approach for a year or longer. We have countless examples I won't bother going into them but Torres is the most recent. Batting him clean up was absurd and what does he do the next day even more absurd by putting JD Davis at clean up after he grounded into a double play and struck out twice. People don't earn their jobs or their position in the lineup. Boone just passed him on the head and says you're a good boy and I have a lot of confidence in you go get em. That's not managing ... it's not leadership... it belongs in kindergarten not on a Major League baseball team
