What relevance does anything have of being "in the manifesto" when only twenty per cent of the electorate were foolish enough to vote for it? How strange that our legacy media are holding off criticism of Labour incompetence with the economy yet viciously attacked Truss for being far more competent.

I've been a trader for just over 20 years. I can categorically state that what Reeves calls "the markets" are not punishing the UK because of disability benefits or any other form of welfare. Giving citizens free money is seen as positive as it stimulates the economy. We are instead shorting the pound for a multitude of reasons, mostly related to poor economic performance and bad governance. As for the stock market, the government have made the FTSE un-investable compared to the S&P 500. This is especially true for retail investors who are saddled with high taxes, insane fees and overregulation. The UK could be like America where normal people are encouraged and incentivised to invest, but in the UK, we take the absolute polar opposite approach, and the government wonders why people only invest in property, which is also a negative as it's making housing unaffordable for an ever increasing number of people. This has a terrible effect on the economy as a whole.

Spot on with your comments, why would you invest in real jobs, when your getting hammered for doing so. I will not be employing anymore staff. can't afford them. in fact selling the business instead
@purrbox751414 күн бұрын
@@kevinlawrence2127 I've already sold my 3 businesses. 2 of them were hammered by the energy bill increases (commercial launderettes) and the other one was hit by rising staff costs and regulation. I left the UK 2 years ago and now reside in Cyprus, which is much more tax friendly for my trading. I have quite a few friends who have also left or are in the process of leaving. A few of my mates are nurses that left the UK for Australia.
