I think its because of legal obligation the human rights bill has all these laws about how asylum seekers should be treated and political prisoners and prisoners of war and minorities, it doesn't say much about the ingenious people and how they should be treated in life or prison. its a product of its time, when they wrote it they just assumed a country would look after its own. now they follow the letter of the law doing what they have to only.

Exactly. My Grandson has Aspergers. Over the last two years he's been diagnosed with epilepsy and has been put in a medically induced coma several times. He's in a hostel, been waiting six months for a place in some sort of sheltered housing, and has now been told that he might have to wait for a year. He's only 19! He needs a better routine to manage his health. A secure housing placement could literally save his life, right now, and help him access other services. The epilepsy diagnosis derailed all his plans for college and employment. I can't believe how much the stress of all this has aged him. How is it ok to throw our youngsters on the scrap heap like this?

I've worked in Charity Run Homeless Shelters in London. Originally funded and built to house British local Homeless Young People obviously. Now full of mainly young Men who are Refugee/Asylum Seekers from North africa and the Middle East. Have our British young homeless Men and Women all been suddenly housed ? Of course not. They're still on the Streets. No room in the Hostels originally built and funded for them !

I work in a doctors surgery, someone came in to pick up his food voucher a week early because he was off to Spain on holiday the following week 😂 wish I could afford a holiday. Same with sick notes for "anxiety and depression" or "back pain" nothing wrong with them, just taking the p!$$ because they can, these incomers do exactly the same and the rest of us pay for it. There is BIG money in housing migrants. Get a contract with the government for 50 beds and you can make tens of thousands per day. Call it a homeless shelter (and maybe get a tax break on the money that the government is giving you). It is BIG business, and affluent entrepreneurs will be hit hard when the migrants stop coming.

I've just seen the Samaritan's Christmas Appeal asking for money to shelter the homeless in the UK. I always give to this but I am wondering if this money will now be used to give sheltered accommodation to the failed asylum seekers/failed economic immigrants who are camping on the streets of the UK, or will my donation go to what I intend it to be, to an indigenous British homeless person, ex-service personnel who need shelter and cannot get a free hotel accommodation. Will my donation be subject to abuse like the RNLI lifeboats donations used to taxi Immigrants into the country, are the Samaritan's now by the definition of 'homeless' give our donations to shelter immigrants, perhaps directed by the government and unbeknown to the public? I'd like to know!
