I am a climate analyst. I worked in the Oil & Gas industry. I have a Masters in Petroleum Geoscience with Exploration. From an educational, and a professional point of view, I feel I have some sort of qualified handle on both sides of the energy and climate arguments. However, be under no illusion. Well it seems you're not hooked on the fact that veganism is a moral imperative and obligation, hence you are currently "pretty much vegan" (i.e. you haven't cut out animal exploitation completely) and you believe you have no grounds to tell others to be vegan. Veganism is a justice movement like any other; animals matter morally. We wouldn't say about child trafficking: "I don't traffic kids, but I don't preach to others about it. Who would I be to condemn child traffickers?" We rightly see that are morally bankrupt. The same applies to animals.
