They want to stop the boats purely because it's dangerous for illegals - but they have no issue with us being swamped by fake asylum seekers - so long as they get here safely. Labour only talked about "stopping the boats" and "immigration too high" to encourage voters to vote Reform and discourage other voters from voting Tory to stop Labour (they wanted Tory voters to stay at home which is what happened). This has been Starmer's entire election strategy: and it worked, he deserves appreciation for his cunning. But Labour voters themselves don't care about this. They want MORE of it. Most Labour voters barely care about immigration: they care more about getting Net Zero than immigration. They WANT more of this. Labour voters completely aware of what Labour intend to do. The only way that Rwanda might have been useful is if any illegal migrant arriving without a passport or documentation (i.e. not having thrown it into the Channel) would have automatically been sent there : no ifs or buts. That may have sped up the application process of identifying those that could be verified & facilitate faster deportation where necessary. Similarly, no immigration lawyer should be allowed to be engaged unless there was a positive means of identification available.

The reason that all asylum claims will be allowed is that there is nowhere to deport the failures to. mainly we don't know for definite where they come from as they have no documents and if we do there are no arrangements for returning them. We do know they set off from France and were escorted to British waters by the French authorities so France should be where they are returned. On shallow draught barges to uninhabited shores and chucked into 3 feet of water on a french beach.

As the labour market is soon to be flooded by all these LABOUR sponsored immigrants, expect the average wage to drop by probably 50% or more as the employers reap the benefits of almost free 'slave' labour. Good for the economy?
