The fixed term still applies I believe. I thought that people in Labour constituencies could sign a petition to recall their MP and trigger by-elections, but having checked it wouldn't be possible as they only apply under certain criteria. So no, I don't believe there is a legal way to get rid of him and his awful party.

The king has the power to dissolve Parliament without the request if his prime minister. However this is one of what are called the 'notional' powers of the monarch. The king could refuse to give the royal assent (as happened in 1708) or, as William IV did in the 1830's, drive to the palace of Westminster, put on his crown, enter the commons chamber and dissolve parliament. Nevertheless the political convention is that it would never happen because it would precipitate a constitutional crisis and perhaps lead to the abolition of the monarchy. Even so Starmer may attempt to do something so ludicrously crazy and so alienate the confidence of the majority of the British public that the king might be obliged to intervene.
