Anyone but Hunt. Wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him. And also she has 300 odd MP's to chose from and they always go back to past cabinet MP's who've been sacked or resigned.

Trillions of public debt accrued for 'covid' but giving out a relatively small tax cut to working people is unacceptable. I hate this country.
@lieshtmeiser5542
@lieshtmeiser5542 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah thats what struck me in this debate...it was a perfect opportunity to get rid of some taxation, and the country squandered the chance because the international financial markets lost their marbles. I do agree with Peter that it wouldve then necessitated spending cuts. So in that sense the parasites hanging off the politicians and government breathed a sigh of relief that the Tories backflipped and gave Truss the boot.

From what I recall, the policy of not having a policy but only doing what one thinks the voters want, in order that one may get into power, and (more importantly) remain in power, began in earnest with the illustrious Tony Blair. Believe he had people go out research what ideas he should have by talking to people.

Bankers bonuses and house price subsidies for 2nd home owners and estate agents. So no change after all then. I'm on the right but Truss is embarrassing . I would not let her manage a fast food outlet. The UK has at best 5 yrs left, but at least it's 2 or 3 more than Germany
