I’ve recently relocated and I do own my own home ( mortgage free ) and cause it’s only me I get single council tax rates but at present I’m only working 15 hrs a week as I’m really struggling to find full time employment again ,i applied for UC but cause I’m earning a certain amount I lose over 3/4 of my UC and I’m lucky if I bring home £100 a week with this part time job 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ but cause of all this my council tax as actually gone back up but I still can’t afford to pay it 😢

Fewer rentals within County Durham due to the council's private licensing act. What this is all about. The Council has split parishes into zones and only made one zone into a licensed area and the others not. There is no plan to even make the other license. So as I look around I am not the only one who has sold my rentals. Others are doing the same. Moving their wealth out of County Durham. The area has many bad landlords and they are the ones that are not being licensed.

I want an apology from the person who called me a liar when i said they going to increase social rents to pay to build housing. Im not sure if they realise that people in social housing can barely afford the rent so they will have to claim HB which means more welfare spending. Its like they are getting their ideas free from a cornflakes packet. 🙄

Yes we do pay council tax . Maybe some people get a reduction if they get pension credit
