Where are all of these high quality "new" Shakey Graves videos coming from? This algorithm was holding out on me.

I would have been way more pumped than the other google peeps if Shakey shown up at my office.
@carson806664 жыл бұрын
For reals. We saw him open for Lord Huron last year and all the old MFers showed up for a sit down show while we got hammered and went nuts. We were beautifully out of place. Shakey gave us a tip of the hat in between songs for our enthusiasm.

Cool performance and interview. Really like that he mentioned the book How Music Works. Also, that kickdrum suitcase is legit.

Shakey has his drum parts down so reflexively that he bounces when he's got a percussionist and I love it.
@dillianjones80764 жыл бұрын
haha its not only that but if you listen to an interview he does, he says that all that bouncing around is like his way of unlocking his potential almost like in martial arts when you yell to increase the power of a strike. this mean really embodies his music perfectly

Oh yeah, this dude is absolutely enveloped in his songs, just saw him live the other day and he's such a powerful and moving musician that it's borderline condescending. The thing is it's not on purpose, he's so humble, he just has to get the music out a very particular way and allows himself to basically get possessed by his music in order to get it all out the way it's in his head

Huge props to this interviewer. Clearly was quite knowledgeable about Shakey and a nice guy as well.

super good insight! mad cool getting a peak behind the curtain and into a crazy creative's brain. greatly appreciated! i would note, though: the interviewer is very knowledgeable and is awesome for doing his research, but he should let the guest say a lot of the stuff he does (i.e. explaining a big part of the homage recording tour instead of letting Shakey do that in full), while keeping the conversation feel that he provides with his very competent input. just some feedback, aloha!
