It’s all deductible from the PSR spend on players and wages etc. All teams will have accountants working on deducting the maximum allowance allowable including City.

@@derelict06 thanks for the reply and I never doubted City cooked the books, I read some of the hacked e mails. I was answering another questioning why United lost around £250 million over three years without being charged. There is an allowable loss on maintenance and improvement of infrastructure plus other items such as setting up and funding the women’s team and so on to be deducted from any FFP loss. Every other club in the league will be claiming the exact same expenses. There is a big difference between that loss and Citys massive profits. It’s not a loss that City are being challenged over. It’s the way City via Abu Dhabi influenced the way the where and who they got their money from.

If the penalty is not on the same lines as the ones against Everton and Nottingham, the respect for the Premier League will be damaged forever. One problem in the City case is that the PL is appointing the panel. If this were to be truly even handed, each party would be free to choose the panel judges as happens at CAS. In that way there can be no suggestion of bias. It does not seem entirely clear but it appears that it might be Murray Rosen KC who appoints the panel and he is a member of Arsenal FC. There was even a suggestion that he might chair the panel.
