The way I see it is the media coverage is expecting more out of the side than the squad warrants and a lot of that is down to history and the club’s stature. The reality is it’s a bang average team just about competitive enough in actual player quality (not performance) to something you’d expect of a top 8 teams these days. There’s no use holding a funeral after every defeat, this is who United are now, a decade of this shows it’s a form not a blip, Liverpool went through it, so have Arsenal and even though Spurs haven’t won the league they’ve at least started to consistently push the top 4. I know it’s not what fans will want to here but what the team needs now isn’t pinning hopes one a few statement signings to turn the club around it’s an incremental rebuild over a few years and acceptance of “this is where we are now”, the failure comes from sky high expectations that a few top players will turn a team that have barely had a sniff of experience of success into title challengers overnight. Personally speaking I don’t think United will be able to overcome this expectancy to have to turn things around instantly just because the fan base and media look back on their former glory and point to the size of the club as markers of where they should be now, I can’t ever see any manager being kept on long enough to rebuild, the moment they progress the next season it has to be the league a little or it’s a failure.
@Пера-т9с2 жыл бұрын
I agree as a Arsenal fan that had to watch Arsenal rebuild which is almost done, still have 3 or 4 players needing to go out. We tried for a short period to do what Utd was doing for a decade to throw money at expensive players to come at a club and hopefully change the situation. The board quickly realised that is not gonna work, but for Utd i think is even more difficult as they are the poster boys of the Premier league. And are always the main focus when something goes wrong for them example Chelsea and Spurs an epic showdown between managers and they are still talking Utd, Arsenal pumped Lester, City etc. Utd needs stability to keep the manager to actually try to implement the philosophy and discipline into the team. If not they can throw the youngsters who will actually fight for the badge. The transfer window is slowly coming to a end i don't see how they will actually significantly improve the squad from what they already have. Sacking managers just repeats the cycle with the same players.

They wont beat liverpool next week. They have shown thier fragility in the last 2 games. When liverpool come onto them with the intensity that they play with under klopp they'll fold. The fact that they want to bring in more potentially toxic players such as rabiot whilst considering the sale of garner a decent youngster who would jump at the chance to play for his boyhood club shows how from top to bottom this club is broken.

First time I've agreed with Simon. I think Gary Neville is pushing the agenda to oust the Glazers so is ignoring the poor tactics from the manager. The 3rd goal was identical to the 2nd goal, why not change the tactics after conceding 2 goals? If they play like this against Liverpool, they will have to (like we say in Nigeria) come with a basket.
@gratefulkm2 жыл бұрын
Neville is simply saying, like Simon said, When you delegate, you expect what you inspect The Glazers only expect money, so they only look at the money Which means the money men can sell the Football down the river for more profit ! Because we are not an American model . we have relegation At the moment due to the owners not inspecting the Teams performance The money men have made lots of money and left the Team to Rot ! And it is so rotten Utd could go down, no matter the manager they essentially have a team of ballerinas

For anybody to attempt to question Ten Hag, before Tuchel joined Chelsea all he won was 2 French Leagues with PSG and a German Cup with Borrusia Dortmund so hopefully Ten Hag gets 2 years. Sadly, a succession of bad results could dictate his dismissal before the January transfer window as Ten Hag could suffer the same fate as Nuno Espirito Santos at Spurs last season.

Ten Hag will be sacked by Christmas.

As an Arsenal fan, let me just tell you... the manager isn't fighting for his job already and I'm sick of hearing it every time a new manager gets off to a bad start at a big club. Time is key. Given Arteta hasn't even got into the top 4 yet, but it doesn't take a genius to see the change in the club internally and the type of performances we're putting in week in week out. It's all on the board! Pre-Super League talks, Arsenal were ruined from the top down. It took the fans, manager and directors voice to finally get the board to back the process. If you're in, you're 100% in not 90% or 95%. Listen to the fans, listen to the manager and TRUST them. Since our board has done that things have been going well for us. Ten Haag needs time, listening to and backed. It takes more than a year or 2 to get the players fully invested and on the same page as the clubs goals. It takes 2+ windows to get the managers players in that will fit the system. You can't just throw the managers job on the line just because OGS + Mourinho players aren't buying into his tactics and system after 2 games. Not even at the end of the season. This season and possibly next season is a complete write off for Manchester United. You'll have moments of beauty and even a winning run, but you're gonna have a lot more heartache unfortunately. Its not gonna be a fun start, but if the manager is actually supported by the board this could be turning point for united back to greatness. Just be patient.
