No they aren’t. Roman was competitive and made football better. In the time of Roman small teams still had a chance. It’s when everyone decided to copy Pep and 2008-2012 Barca and focus on positional play and automated movements, which led to them picking robotic coachable players that lack technical skill. This style of play needs specific types of players which only the big teams have access to and they’re the only ones that can produce them in their academies.

This genuinely made me laugh. To say Conor Gallagher is the heart and soul of the football club is laughable. Our captain of the football club is literally from our academy. We have two players in our starting 11 from our academy. That more than almost every club in the premier league. Conor is not good enough and if Roman was still here he’d still be sold like every other academy player we ever had before the transfer ban. Chelsea fans are complaining that Clearlake has killed the club. No it’s these fans that hold onto all this sentiment for players that are bang average. Besides Terry the players you most likely reference for Chelsea success are not from our academy.

An official complaint should be lodged with the Independent Football Regulator, to identify whether Boehly & Clearlake are fit and proper owners. It is all very well for allowing new organizations to purchase football clubs, but if it turns out that they have obviously lied about their intentions regarding their ownership, which is the case regarding Chelsea Football Club. These individuals are simply using the club as a trading platform for personal gain, and not a competing football club. Which is a betrayal of the basic ideology of the sport. What has happened, is nothing short of destruction of a once great club by asset stripping every element of it, while loading it with £1.2 billion of debt in just over two years. If this continues the club will not exist in five years time. A complaint, and an inquiry should be lodged immediately, before it is too late..

With the FFP rules they have to make money to counter any big purchases, they have to buy cheap and sell big later, it’s called business, and without it you can no longer compete. The FFP rules need to change to have home grown players be more valuable to a club, rather than right now be more for sales.
