Usyk earned 20% from the AJ fight, but he knew he would win against him so agreed quickly. Against Fury he was getting 30% but knows he will get easily beaten so has walked away. Now he will fight Dubois...and get 70% in his favour of say £20 million fight. Fighting Fury, he would get 30% of a £100+ million fight...and this is because of the Fury brand name globally not Usyk. So you do the sums and figure what a sensational pay day he was going to get...he will regret walking away from this Fury fight.

This is an absolute disgrace. Months of negotiations and procrastination and in the end there is no fight. Kudos to the women who fight the best with the best and do not run away from real difficult challenges, while men run away from real difficult challenges just looking for excuses to avoid the fight. It's a shame what boxing has fallen into. After the fight between Fury and Chisora, Fury called out Usyk and now it turns out to be pointless, because from the very beginning Fury did not want that fight, but he sold the fog to everyone that he wanted to fight Usyk and now there is no fight. I'm a fan of AJ and Fury, but I have to be objective and honest, Fury is the only one to blame for why this fight won't happen. Boxing needed this fight, this was supposed to be a historic fight where two undefeated boxers are fighting for the unification of all belts with the fact that we are talking about 4 belts. Big respect to Usyk and his team for giving absolutely everything to make the fight happen and agreed to all the things that were offered to them in the end, but Fury then comes with new demands and new and new demands,now it's clear why he was doing it because he was just looking for a way out and finally got a way out. As a boxing fan, I am very disappointed that this fight will not happen.Words without action are worth shit.

In this scenario usyk will be the unified heavyweight champion for the first time in 20 odd years. In the AJ rematch usyk would have only had three belts. Ultimately usyk compromised so therefore fury should compromise and give a unified usyk the lions share in a rematch

But if Usyk wanted 40% -50% for the rematch after a loss - that would be totally unreasonable - as he is nowhere near a global brand as Fury is. Outside of the UK ( because of the Joshua fights) and Ukraine, he is not really a superstar boxer - so wouldn't carry the same financial muscle like Fury and AJ. He is boring, has no knockout power at heavyweight (and even though he is a very very good boxer) - he isn't as good as heavyweight, as people are making him out to be- AJ made him look good because he was gassed out.

If Usyk scrapes a controversial split decision for example - Fury's stock does not diminish at all - if anything people would be even more keen to see him defeat Usyk in the renatch. He is undefeated and one loss is not the end of the world. Most of the all time greats lost fights, and avenged thier defeats in rematches. So lose to Usyk ( whilst a hiccup) would not be devastating for Fury. But I think the problem was Usyk was asking 70/30 for the rematch - which Fury (rightly) wouldn't agree to - so Usyk pulled out.
