I said this on another channel that the big difference between Benn and Garcia is that Benn failed a test and the fight was called off. Garcia missed weight and fought with PEDs in his system and battered his opponent and hurt him badly. Totally different situation as the fight did go ahead and the lighter guy got flattened. So freakin dangerous. Criminal actually…literally so. Just another crappy mark on boxing. Sucks.

Ffs 🤦‍♂️ I’m not about to go back and forth with a bunch of folks with agendas arguing every minutiae out there. There are many things to bring up of course. But, to be clear I’m referring to the Benn v Eubank fight as that’s what most people will use as a comparison. And no I’m not defending Benn in any way and no I don’t dislike Garcia. If Benn could have got away with the fight he would have I’m sure. But the difference and my main point is one fight didn’t happen (and Eubank likely avoided being badly hurt) and in another case the fight did and someone got badly hurt. There is a qualified difference in that regard. Let’s try and be grown ups in comments and not kids in a playground.

Where was the outrage when Garcia turned up 3lb overweight. There are weight divisions for a reason and in those lower divisions, when one fighter is killing himself to cut weight and another is not, there can and have been serious injuries. The fight should not have happened in the first place...its worse that most people know Garcia was on all types of substances, who did not think this was a possibility? End of story. Ban him for life.

Jeez, There was NO outrage when Garcia did'nt make the weight, because he said that he would personally pay Haney $500,000 for every pound that he came in overweight, & that turned out to be $2 million, but even without the failure to make the weight, that he would have beaten Haney, but he must ALSO be given the chance to prove his innocence, & if he cannot do that, then he need to be punished accordingly. I like Garcia, but he is not above the law, let all of the facts come out, before we rush to judge him.

VADA sent him a letter with a negative test taken on February 28th and now claims that a test from the day of the fight (April 20) came positive. So assuming he started cycling the very next day the letter came he did a month and 20 days cycle ?? Sounds like bs

Nah we just need tougher bans & more media scrutinity. i hate when this happens cause everyone acts outraged in the first week & then all the usual media outlets, pundits etc all fall in line. Simple solution - purse held in escrow, if you are found to be juiced at a point after the fight then you lose 75% of the purse....permanently unless at some point after then you are absolved/proved innocent.
