He explained that he intended to take a break and go on holiday after the fight, from before the fight even took place. He fought Fabio in October 2023 and got sparked out, so he wasn't going to fight again until 2024 anyway. So the guy takes a holiday, enjoys Xmas, then gets himself a new team and trainer. Then spends some time gelling with them before going into camp for a July 2024 fight with Dacres. He gets injured and the fight is postponed. The series of events says the reality is that he wasn't away from boxing very long at all, so the criticisms are unfair. For the record I don't like the guy, I think he's an asshole who has been feasting on a diet of bums.......but can also objectively see that criticisms of his time out the ring are 🐕 💩 too.
