CMJ was superb. He thoroughly deserved that bit of luck that saw him cover the 81 Ashes on TV. A privilege to meet him.

Some of commentators in Hindi. Sushi Doshi, Ravi Chaturvedi. Just marvellous. We in India did not have access to t.v for a very long time. These commentators had the presence and I could visualise bill lawry or Mackenzie through this commentary. T.v commentary outside of Ian Chappell, Lloyd, maybe a couple of others.

Not sure if Jarrod remembers but Dr. Neville Oliver (they called him the doctor) filled in during the 1991-92 Ind-Aus series and then again in 92-93 for the WI-Aus home series. He hit the ball out of the park each time he was on air for his mini-session of 20 minutes. Tim Lane was just a newbie back then and Jim Maxwell was the real McCoy with the brilliant drawl, but the doctor was amazing. Harsha B was a guest for the Ind series. CMJ the ultimate default voice for TMS, until Agnew came around 1990. But Brian Johnston was absolutely magnificent even in the late 80s and even in 1990 when Ind toured England (what can be described as the Goochie series). So Brian Johnston and the doctor's unique voices and the way they described the match will always stay with me.

Aggers grated a bit about 10 years ago when in every session of every game he brought up his dislike of DRS. Even after it had been in the game for years, He'd bring it up. He's stopped now pretty much, but sometimes I had to turn him off when, perhaps for the third time in the same days' play, he would bring up DRS and the primacy of the umpire. Even when umpires told him they wanted it. He still carried on.

For me it has to be: Presenter - Aggers Commentator - CMJ Commentator - Blowers Commentator - Brian Johnson (Jonners) Commentator - Alison Mitchell (The ONLY female who can do the job well) Summarisers - Fred Trueman, Sir Geoffrey Boycott, Vic Marks Overseas - Tony Cozier, Jim Maxwell, Prakash Wakanker The following are all, in my opinion, quite awful: Michael Vaughan (talks a lot but actually says nothing at all), Tuffers, Daniel Norcross (never stops talking about Surrey & I'm a Surrey supporter), Alex Hartley (I want to switch off when that woman starts screeching), Manthorp.

Please don’t be PC and throw out all these modern names from overseas players. I’m sorry but let’s start as we mean to go on. Arlott, Johnson, Martin-Jenkins, Don Mosey, Blofeld, Tony Lewis, Simon Hughes, Aggers, Vic Marks and Tuffers. Kimber talks a pile rubbish at times. Aggers is brilliant.

@@dkf4063 Kimber has no idea about TMS. You and I do and it is wonderful. Sometimes Kimber attempts to be too clever. His point on Aggers was nonsense. Remember when Aggers called the final overs a few years back when Stokes scored that incredible hundred at Headingly against Australia. It was pure theatre and Aggers was sensational. It’s on Yourube. Kimber should watch it.
