This looks like it will help a lot. The funny thing is, as an experiment, I switched from BR to PT and entered "comboio" as a sample word search, and what was the very first video it pulled up? YOUR video "Portugal vs. Brazil: Different words with the same meaning!". I think that's a repeat for me, but I don't mind. :) Just got back from spending two weeks in Porto, and the rare times we turned the TV on, we would watch reruns of "Castle" or "NCIS" with the (English) sound turned almost all the way down and try to figure out what was going on from the subtitles, but reading is the easiest part of learning Portuguese. I'm glad to find a way to HEAR some Portuguese, which is on the opposite end of the spectrum for me!

OMG this is SUPER! If there be such a thing as a “missing link” between A) listening to my same old Portuguese videos, and B) listening to a Portuguese person strike up a conversation with me (with all new content and everything notated and translated), then this would absolutely be IT! Thank you Liz, for sharing this spectacular goody!😊

Oh wow -- thank you for sharing, Liz! I can't wait to try this out. Been trying to watch some Portuguese videos on Lingopie, and I've learned that some Portuguese songs on Spotify have a scroll for lyrics, too. But it looks like there is so much more content to explore on Youglish.

Oh, thank you! That's exactly what I need at the moment because I want to focus on the pronunciation now (after starting with Duolingo for half a year and starting new with Memrise yesterday). It feels so much better to learn the Portuguese one actually wants to learn! And Memrise is also more bound to reality. So thank you very much for that advice, too! What I needed in addition now, was a good source for input to listen to, and here it is. 🤩😘

This would be a great resource if I could get it to work correctly. I have it filtered for European português and have tried a few search terms (música, cozinha, médica) but I keep getting videos with Brazilian accents. What might be some better search terms that could help me hone into European português? Obrigada.

Great idea. Not working that well for me on iOS but am sure it will improve. I may also have some conflict on my device (sigh). Yes, the content that comes up can be random, but interesting. All these old intellectuals. I like listening to them! 😂 It’s emphatic portuguese.
