it's really nice to see current styles instead of super outdated stuff and also appreciate that you didn't rely on endless photos of sohpia vergara. her style is extremely well-trodden ground at this point and personally she's more for the good morning america crowd which is not for me
@myleneamelie6 ай бұрын
Thank you! I really do believe that body type ≠ a style. She’s got a very particular glamour style for sure and it works for her, but it definitely won’t work for every single person who has the same body structure ☺️

I absolutely love this video! As a SD, what I love about this video is that it talks strictly about the lines and what cuts and styles tend to look best. I feel like too many Kibbe videos focus so much on the archetypes( which I understand is a big part of his system) that it can get lost on people and sometimes even be a bit off putting. For example, not everyone with a SD body wants to identify as “diva chic”. Some, like myself, honestly just want basic line recommendations and want to use that information to come up their own interpretations for what their style should be while staying in the Kibbe spectrum. This was amazingly accomplished with this video. I look forward to watching more of your content.
@myleneamelie6 ай бұрын
Glad you enjoyed it! YES exactly! I really wanted to steer clear from the archetypes for that very reason. When I started learning this years ago, I wasted so much money buying things I thought I needed to wear to fit my flamboyant gamine body type - completely ignoring my personal essences! Kibbe body types should really be more about shape and lines and the rest is where personality and that uniqueness comes in 😉

This makes the most sense of any SD video I've seen. The way you describe the lusciousness, the draping, the light fabrics, flowy-ness. Everything. I also love that you include men! Pretty sure my husband is the same type. : ) I feel like you're really honoring of the body types in terms of your choice of languaging as well. Super helpful!

This video was great! I also want to add that SDs look amazing in mini skirts too! But they have to on the shorter side I’ve noticed! There is this certain point on the hip where if you have the right length it works really well! But avoid super stiff materials or anything that is too structured. Make it light and try keep the top as monochromatic/matching as possible.
@myleneamelie3 ай бұрын
Glad you liked the video & thanks for watching! Yes, every SD is different, so not every single one looks good in mini skirts - it isn't as general of a line for SDs, which is why it's not included. BUT this is a great example of seeing how your INDIVIDUAL body can work with certain clothing lines outside of the norm. Thanks for sharing 🤗

I feel like soft dramatic videos are always a ton of compliments on having the body type like “90s super model” this and “Sophia Vergara” that and then really old out dated Hollywood photos. Like I just want to dress like a modern woman for my body lol.

Can confirm as a tall soft dramatic, forget the thin heels. They will NEVER survive. They just don’t make off the shelf shoes for women who are heavier. My skinny weight, is over weight for shorter women. 😂 Wedges and platforms for added length for life!

Love this video series! So much useful information. I am a FN with a large bust and slim hips… and find that many of the SD elements are more flattering on me. I’m pulling what works best between the 2… and your channel has helped a lot. So thank you!

Yes! That’s exactly what I do with my clients, because although these body types are great frameworks, not everyone fits 100% of the time with every clothing line. That’s awesome that you know how to make it work!! So empowering 💪🏻

I think I’m a SC because I look moderate, but I’m also almost 5’10. Recently started looking into SD.
@myleneamelie5 ай бұрын
Height isn't really the determining factor, it's more how you appear! So if you look moderate and you don't look tall, then I'd focus more on the body types that include moderate as a overall height impression. For SD, it isn't really that they're super tall - more that they have larger frames and so they appear taller and larger (not petite or moderate in size). Hope that helps!
@YumeraChauque2 ай бұрын
Mmm I think you are a soft dramatic, soft classic is moderate and at that height u r no longer moderate.
@EmL-kg5gn17 күн бұрын
Soft natural might also be worth considering if you haven’t already! It’s also more moderate in terms of height but it’s not as moderate as the classics

I have always been reslly skinny, but have always had a bit of a curve at the waist and bust - can I still be a soft dramatic? I find the pure dramatic doesn’t really fit me
@myleneamelie5 ай бұрын
Hi! Great question! People who's dominance is either soft or angular can both appear and be skinny and can both gain weight. Being skinny isn't really the indicator nor is curves (since even pure dramatics can have curves, like Taylor Swift). The question is more what is more prominent on your overall structure, is it your frame (bones & muscles) or your fleshiness (softness and skin)? I'll be doing a whole video on this soon! So hopefully that'll help clear it up ☺
@badpoetry335 ай бұрын
I have also always been very skinny, 5’7 and 115 lbs but have a small waist and curvy (not straight/boyish) hips. I was recently typed as a SD and it resonates! My essence is ethereal though, so a combination of essence and body type helps you find your best looks… ps - thanks for the great video, love that it ventures off the beaten SD path!
@myleneamelie5 ай бұрын
@@badpoetry33 ooh ethereal essence and SD body type is such a beautiful combo 🥰. Oh I’m even more confused. I took a quiz and got SN even tho I feel I’m an SD because I have long arms and legs… However this was a great video on the style lines for SD.
@myleneamelie3 ай бұрын
Both SD and SN can have long arms and legs! In my experience online quizzes aren’t the most reliable, they can be somewhat helpful, but it’s really more the overall impression your entire body gives and how clothing sits on your body. It takes some time to narrow it down! Trial and error also is super helpful (taking videos of you in the two different lines will often show you where you look most natural and comfortable). If you need any more help, I do offer online analysis!

I think I am a soft dramatic. I am 1,72 and look hight. My figure is straight with a big bust but small hips. I don’t wear Pattern. I need structure at the shoulders and not oversized clothes. But there is one point what doest fit to the type. I don’t like romantic looks. I only wear Tshirt Dresses and sporty clothes. With the dresses you showed I would look clownish. Could it be that I am a mixture with any other type?
@myleneamelie16 күн бұрын
@@cocoparisienne1779 possible to be a mixture! Bust size doesn’t always match the body types, so I would take it out of the equation while you look for your body type and then just add in the accommodation for the bust as a last step when looking at your clothing lines. This body type you have to have an hourglass shape & be fleshy on top of an angular body tall frame. Hope that helps!
