Alabama State was more clear and precise. Seems like the other section was drummers, but the guys from Alabama State were Percussionists. TC just beat the drum, there were no dynamics. They kinda looked like a high school drum section instead of a college Percussion Secrion. I have to go with ASU for the win on this one.

ASU was cleaner and had better clarity. TC has a nice snareline but I'm not sure why they tune the snares like that?

BOTH drum lines did great! This my first opportunity to really seeing ASU’s line in that light and they was straight but Renegade is always War Ready. They just remind of a collegiate Memphis drum line just some monsters. But I really wish and I MIGHT HAVE TO BE THE ONE TO MAKE IT HAPPEN but to have Renegade, Blood Rain, WT, Rat Patrol, and KranK. In a battle by themselves in a two hour block. Just drums.

Jeff P85 I agree. With all this separate-sectional- battle id's entirely stupid. And it sounds like each section is playing something out of a cadence. It's too scripted, like they just playing rudiments. I'm old school, play you're cadence and I play mine, and see who wins. This is a headache. I would have been told my section to turn astound, we not battling no kids. I gotta give it to ASU.

I wish TC wouldn’t use fiber skin heads for the bass drums. Fiber skin heads tend to be more muffled, which hinders the bass line. Mylar heads are much louder.

Is me or does almost all of Talladega groves sound the same. I'm not too particular of any one of these sections but Talladega has more of the SWAC style although if JSU is the standard. Of course I know ASU is in the SWAC but those down right tenors irritating. They should get aboard like their cousin AAMU did. ASU sounds good just should some more clear snare heads. But over all this was fairly ok battle.
