My dad has had this knife before I was even born, he gave it to me a few days ago and told me to take care of it. He gave me my first pocket knife when I was around 6, it was a small swiss army knife he had in the army, when I lost it I was really sad, I saw that he had the gerber and I wanted it, he said when your older and now I have it. Thanks dad.

The Paraframe was the first knife I bought for myself when I was a teenager at Sports Authority lol. Bought a Gerber Covert FAST about 8-9 years ago and it still opens and locks like the first day I opened it. I love my Microtech OTF, but I'll always carry my Gerber

Exactly, the only way I see it making sense is if it's a custom piece specifically designed for you, otherwise, unless your job requires you to use it, why bother
@Handydandee

I used to think like that and you can also find $100 knives for about $30 second hand. But honestly after getting some higher quality knives secondhand I can now say I would spend about $50-$100 for a nice knife new, but I’m constantly finding $100-$200 knives used but like new for $20-$100 so why waste my money

When I was younger, this knife was the knife that started my addiction/collection. I’ve owned at least 5 or 6 of them because of how beautiful to me they were at the time, now I’m sitting here with my benchmades wishing they didn’t all get lost or stolen from me, I’m going to go pick one up for nostalgia, appreciate you making this video man. This knife is the OG, hands down. ✌️👌

The Paraframe combo edge was the first knife I bought that was not the traditional buck lock blade. That was a very long time ago. I have bought 3 more since to keep in reserve and I still have my original that is still smooth W/out, wiggle anywhere that I EDC to this day. I have many knives that are more expensive but the 3" blade Paraframe for some reason seems the right size and comfortable in the hand as well as not to much the law can say about it. It's a winner in my book.

I have been EDC'ing the Paraframe for years! Started carrying it because I wanted something lightweight. Continued carrying because it does all the things I need it to do on a daily basis at a great price point. Can't tell you how many of these things I've thrown in the trash at a TSA checkpoint. It would hurt my feelings to do it with a Benchmade.

As a kid I had a SWAK until I cut myself and stopped carrying it. Some time later I had a Gerber LST that I carried for years. I remember that it was considered a pretty quality knife at the time, and I loved it. I have a Gerber USA1 that I sometimes carry now which is pretty similar. Gerber does a good job. It's funny how the knives we bought when we didn't know much about knives can find such a nostalgic place in our hearts, and as you said, they often end up having more pocket time than later blades get a chance to have. Thanks Talon

I still carry one of these, alternating between it and a Kershaw Blur. I don't do anything super hardcore with my knives and this is perfect for 99% of my needs. It's small, light, and I wouldn't be upset if I lost it. I understand why other knives are better, but I don't have a need for a $200 EDC knife yet. You have nothing bad to say about it? I do: 1) The holes in the frame can allow for your finger to be in it while the blade is closed 2) The lock grind _always_ has a bur 3) The edge of the frame lock that you press against to unlock is sharp 4) The blade is seldom centered from the factory 5) The Blade is super crap-tier china steel, even below its price point 6) The pivot is impossible to adjust without destructive modification of the pivot pin 7) The thumb-studs are about three times as long as the scales are thick - meaning they protrude considerably. Definitely an OK $10 knife (even though there are better for $10), but there are many bad things that can be said about it.

The smaller one will break at the blade lock as does the bigger one. Its blade material is slightly harder than the bigger versions.. The bigger one is slightly beefier. The stainless is not up to Hawaii climate..it's sand proof though. The mfgaturing is very blah. I would bring a solid knife to a "lost" scenario.
