Hi Mark, first of all thanks for watching and commenting on my video. I am so pleased that it brought back memories for you. . I have been visiting North Wales every year for the past twenty, due to the virus and travel restrictions I will not be able to make it his year. As soon as the whistle blows and the train is under way you are transported into another world, and for a few hours time stands still. Best Regards Pete

Will never forget at the age of 10 I got to move Dolgoch into a siding at Pendre. My favourite holidays were here as a kid in the 80s.

Just sublime. No music needed. I can almost smell the air of that spring day and the smoke.

Me and my dad visit took place the same year that this footage was made and on the day of our visit the old lady herself was at the head of the train that we traveled on but sadly we never saw Wilbert awdry's recreated study because the museum was closed and not opened to the public

What are they doing by those blockpost
@ghostontheline
@ghostontheline 4 жыл бұрын
Hi, It's a signal box where you leave one block and enter the next. The Talyllyn uses a token system rather than signals, and the driver has to be in possession of the token before he can enter the next block. They're usually manned and the token is handed over from a platform, but on the day of the video it looked like a quiet day so the driver did it himself. Thanks to "Otacatapetl" for this excellent description. I hope this helps, and thanks for watching. Cheers Pete

Hi. thanks for comments and for watching the video. The wind noise is a problem that comes with using built in microphones. I have found some stick on mini dead cats which help to cut the noise.Cheers Pete

@@ghostontheline I had the same problem but easily fixed by buying a second hand Rode external mic on E Bay. It makes ALL the difference to a video.
