To be honest, the Talyllyn Railway kinda reminds of the famous Disneyland Railroad here in the United States of America that runs at the famous Disneyland Theme Park in Anaheim, California. Much like Talyllyn Railway No. 1 “Talyllyn” and No. 2 “Dolgoch”, we have two Disneyland Railroad Steam Locomotives that were the first ones to operate for the DRR, which are Disneyland Railroad #1 “C.K. Holliday” and #2 “E.P. Ripley” (Both built by Walt Disney Studios in 1954). Both railroads would then have locomotives a bunch of or a few years after each of their own first two Steam Locomotives, such as for example the Talyllyn Railway had got No. 3 “Sir Haydn” and No. 4 “Edward Thomas” over by 1951, Diesel No. 5 “Midlander” over by 1957, No. 6 “Douglas” over in 1953, and of course “No. 7 “Tom Rolt” being for the railroad over by 1991. And for the Disneyland Railroad, it received Disneyland Railroad #3 “Fred Gurley” (Built by Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1894) back in 1958, Disneyland Railroad #4 “Ernest S. Marsh” (Built by Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1925) right over in 1959, and finally Disneyland Railroad #5 “Ward Kimball” (Built by Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1902) most recently in 2005.

I see what you mean - I think the main thing that seperates them is that the TR was built for slate, whereas the Disneyland Railroad was a tourist line. Now, though, the TR's a tourist line too!

Lovely clip. Thank you. From the looks if the gleaming carriages, I'm guessing not catching an unwanted reflection is more tricky than ever these days! No.1's GER finery sits well indeed .with the stardard carriage livery. For a while there, at Wharf, I thought No.3 had been re-engined.🙂

Many people online seem to dislike 1s new livery but I think it is absolutely gorgeous, having seen some of the work that went into it as well makes it even more stunning.

Thank you! The TR's carriages are really well kept, probably some of the cleanest in Britain! 1's new livery is beautiful, I'll admit I had my reservations but seeing it in the flesh really changed my mind.

@@QuarrySteam I can see where they're coming from if they haven't seen it in person - up close though it really does look georgous!

I gotta say, Talyllyn looks great in blue

You know, I think blue’s a nice color for a train. Especially one that is almost 170 years old.

Agreed, it looks even better in person!
