I got this snare about a week ago and boy I tell you this thing sings. I have the 7x13 SLP g maple and that might end up being my back up. I put a power stroke 3 on it and let her eat. I play gospel, blues, jazz, and R&B. This snare is so versatile. I can tune it low to the valleys, high to the heavens and in between and it sounds good everywhere. My ole lady thought I cheating on her with the sounds I was making while tuning it.

thankfully, this snare is being reproduce now even still limited stock and I just preordered it... this demo convinced me this is the ONE snare that I need to get for my church gigs and also collection...

Eagles Fan Since Super Bowl 52 same for me too. At low tuning it didn't sound that great. At high tuning it sounded pretty good.

@@SubaruWRXspdManual i think the reso could go higher on all the tunings. it sounds much warmer from the side of the drum as shown here. when you are sitting over it it has a tremendously bright crack that can disguise how much body this drum has. its interesting for sure. it records very well.

Very nice tone from low to high tuning on this snaredrum. How tight is the bottom head tuned in this case? It occured to me that you didn't retune the bottom head while tuning up the batter head.

Jan Ceulemans you don't really tune the resonant head as you raise or lower the timing of the batter head. Once you have the bottom head where you like it, it's all about the batter head to change the tune.

Yeah, but messing with the reso head usually yields a better attack when it's cranked. I've gotten great results with a balanced and snappy tone with some body by simply cranking the reso head and tuning the batter head for taste. Try it. :)

The resonant head is the one that comes with the snare but they've switched the Evans G1 batter that comes with it to a Remo Coated Ambassador
