That's because of thick shell. I wish they would bring them back in the regular Starclassic line but that would be too expensive.

Nice kit! Congratulations! The China facility has a Japanese highly skilled employee in charge of each department. Their quality standards are the same. I bought a Starclassic performer in March and the quality is very high for a $1,500 kit.

wow!!, they look and sound awesome. I too purchased a new Tama SC kit in sapphire fade. I am not a fan of the kick tom mount - the mount is excellent quality but with a 12x9 tom, I can't get it low enough without it touching the base drum- so like you, I'm going to off-set them on a tom stand like your setup. I almost bought the same kit as yours but I wanted two floor toms and the new 50th anniversary of course, doesn't offer them in a pair- congrats man, they look and sound amazing, I haven't heard them played this hard in any other video, they sound better the harder you play them!! very impressed ...:)

Dec 2024, its on Sale here in the US for $1399.I need an All-Birch kit, Would've bought it in a heartbeat but Tama screwed the pooch with no options for add'l Tom's. Already have a couple of Tama 9pc Starclassic (Walnut/Birch, and Maple/Birch). Hopefully Tama gets the memo & comes out with an expanded kit ? Might have to just buy a cheap Yammy Birch kit. They are pretty solid. Man that Snare ! Mmm Mmm Mmm (Looking at my wife 🤕)

gorgeous kit and tunings man! I have a pdp concept maple in oxblood and im partial to them and dw in general, but I picked up a tama SLP g-maple 13x7 and Tama has definitely caught my attention. these toms and kick sound lovely. they are clear and articulate, but i'm sure it helps that you're beating them super cleanly too Haha Cheers brother. Your chops have inspired me to pick up my sticks today
