@@adilla121783 if you were smart rather than a hater, you'd know Tamar was out before Beyonce. The Braxtons were bigger than Destiny's Child & Girls Tyme (or whatever her flopped group was called). Nobody knew who Destiny's Child was until 1997-8. Tamar had the looks and everything to be a breakout star but she couldn't because people found out she was a Braxton and Toni had the spotlight then. The same happened with The Jacksons. Janet wasn't a superstar until at least two decades later. Michael had the spotlight and eventually fell off (as an artist, not as an icon) in the early 2000s (and his record sales prove it). Tamar BEEN dressing/dancing like this. Maybe she wasn't vocally on point in 1999 but she is now and she's successful. She had what it took to be competing with Brandy.

It's funny how people always compare Tamar with Beyonce. Tamar was out doing her thing before Beyonce (Destinys child). Tamar was in the group the Braxtons and actually the earlier years of Destiny's child reminds me of the Braxtons.The Braxtons just did not bring it. Their music was ok but it did not sale and their performance were sloppy. Even when Tamar first went solo it was ok but her music did not sale. When Destiny's child came out in 97-98 they were like a better version of the Braxtons. Their music was so much better and it sold more and they blew up specially Beyonce.

I got DC stuff back then in high school but at that time they wanted Tamar , DC , chante Moore. all had same style ....hair! it goes on and on. sheesh, DreamWorks (yes the animation label) folded their music label..... and Sole ( who goes so hard with her debut and songs with Tamar) and Tamar bad no where else to go.They shelved Tamar's 2nd album. but it was the sign of the times for all of them.
