Oh mine...normally the first scene, before "Shishi" retreats back in the Hanamichi where he came out, Shishi does this "1" flip to get rid of the long hair to place it in front of him so he won't step on it during the "retreating (running back ward into the Hanamichi state). but in this clip, he doesn't do this, meaning he risked stepping on the long hair...and at the last segment, he does a bit differently when "Shishi" claims as the King, he lifts "right" leg first.

@Morgan Brandy tradition. The same used to be fair for european theatre (for example in Shakespeares time), but it changed some time in the 18th century. Kabuki is far more traditional though so it has been maintained.
