These songs are very detailed, but I think the songs on Currents and Lonerism are possibly even more detailed. "New Person, Same Old Mistakes" is so intricate, probably his greatest work. "Apocalypse Dreams", "Runway, Houses, City, Clouds", and "Patience" are extremely detailed and layered songs too, if you haven't heard those I highly recommend.

This track is the biggest proof of Kevin Parker being a "one of a kind" pop musician/songwriter. The man that brought late 60's psychedelia back to media attention ten years ago now has turned into a classy soft rock/yatch rock revivalist. This song is a fuckin' banger with that Happy Mondays-esque piano, the Fleetwood Mac vibes and the shocking inspired-by Daft Punk ending. Genius!

I don't know why this song makes me cry. Perhaps because my mother passed recently. Perhaps because my father is in the hospital. Perhaps because my 14.5 yr old pup is slowing down. Perhaps because I miss my partner as she's going through a transition right now. Whatever the reason, the deep pain and sadness that just flowed from my Being was so powerful right now. I thank our Creator for placing Beings like Tame on this Earth.

A song that really grabs the listener by the throat emotionally. So much sensitivity and melancholy in this one. If art has been purging passions since Antiquity, this song fulfils this role to perfection. Personally, the cathartic effect is profound. Breathe Deeper is the kind of song that makes me cry and allows me to evacuate the pain I carry within me. The melodies sung by Kevin are so harmonious and sad. Masterpiece...and this piano alone in the middle of the song, a tribute to Trax records? What a beauty... I'm 48 years old and I don't think I could have been happier in 2020...

I'm pitching Tame Impala to my stubborn old-school Rock 'n Roll parents this month, and I'll describe them thusly: Tame Impala feels to me like a modern-day Pink Floyd. They have both a psychedelic imprint like the Syd Barrett era and also the raw emotional power that cuts through the production like in the David Gilmore era. I got the green LPs, can't wait for them to arrive!

So weird how tame impala evokes such strong nostalgic emotions from brand new music, so many people can relate to the lyrics and music but each person it’s a very different memory or experience.

Actually kevin did say that when he would go to friends weddings and a song of his was played everyone would leave the dancefloor. At first he thought it was funny but then he felt like it was a void in his music that needed to be filled

Currents was like an emotional experience but as I’m hearing this album over and over the past month or two, it’s full of just incredibly well crafted pop singles that are catchy and very danceable but very less emotionally inept than the material on Currents
