My father heard this and said he didn't remember hearing this particular song back in the late 60's when he was in his early 20's. He was surprised to know that the lead singer - Kevin Parker - is even younger than I am. That's how good these guys are; my dad thought they were an old psychedelic 60's band that he'd forgotten about during Woodstock.

Too bad your chances are slim And it's not like mister shook to get shy when they ask him who is on top There must be something deep down in the dark down there He's not too easily scared He's got friends but they got fear Wouldn't care too much if he just disappeared Oh, look see there he is now coming down the stairs Here he comes He pulled the mirrors off his Cadillac 'Cause he doesn't like it looking like he looks back He talks like his opinion is a simple fact Somebody grabbed his collar He cried the whole way home No one been remembered a thing when they saw him again That's how it is 'til the end Yeah

Well he feels like an elephant Shaking his big grey trunk for the hell of it He knows that you're dreamin' about being loved by him Too bad your chances are slim And it's not like Mr. Shuck To get shy when I ask who always is on top There must be something deep down in the middle down there He's not too easily scared He's got friends but they got the feeling Wouldn't care too much if he just disappeared Oh, look, see there he is now coming down the stairs (Here he comes) He pulled the mirrors off his Cadillac (yeah) 'Cause he doesn't like it looking like he looks back He talks like his opinion is a simple fact Somebody grabbed his collar He cried the whole way home No one remembered a thing when they saw him again That's how it is 'til the end (yeah)

Wow, go the Wiggles for making Elephant #1 with their take... They did a great job. It is a catchy song 👍

Love how they incorporated Fruit Salad. Apparently now they are putting together an album of all over cover versions. Can't wait.

What's so cool about this, is that this song is around 15 years old and they just started using it for a car commercial! Classics never die! They live forever!

There are already a lot of great comments about this song BUT watching Kevin perform this LIVE at a concert is unlike anything you can hear at home, etc. no matter what kind of drugs you're on. It's a completely different and AMAZING experience.

That is a pretty epic video! It's so cool , it kinda looks like it was made in the 70s though anyone else think that?

Lyrics to Tame Impala just look at Kevin's hair. He obviously loves 70's and is constantly making references to that era
@Tameimpalalyricd7 жыл бұрын
SlashsBluesBall yeah.... but I heard him in an interview saying that he doesn't rly care if ppl called his music retro cos he doesn't think that at all. Or something to the likes of that.
@SlashsBluesBall7 жыл бұрын
Lyrics to Tame Impala well, his music isn't that retro, but his looks are and he's clearly influenced by classic rock. He even sings like John Lennon. I mean c'mon

I remember my friend never liked taking music recs from people cause he was always disappointed. he also played bass and i told him to check out tame impala and specifically this song and he told me he instantly fell in love and thanked me for showing it to him. The band was fairly new at the time as well , this album had just dropped.

Hmmmm this is extremely bizarre, Back in 1988 I had a band called Tame The Elephant, and we had a song called "Impala" and another song called "Nova" Both songs were titled after a fellow band member's two cars And this is my first time ever hearing of this band or this song. My mind is blown

The first time I ever heard this, I was walking in the middle of night around the neighborhood and IMMEDIATELY my head went “KIA”.. This is the sole reasons I don’t watch TV anymore, I let product placement ruin my first impressions of this song, and potentially any other song in the future! Turns out it was an Audi commercial that played this song, but it still baffles me how I let that happen in my own mind!
