The aurora borealis is so hugely fascinating to me. I really hope to see it one more time. Many years ago I was as far north in Alaska as you can drive. In the middle by of the night we got out of our campervan. And the aurora surrounded us almost like a huge dancing bowl. I was in total awe! I went to an educational experience while in Alaska and they told us that at the exact same time as the aurora is on the North Pole, and in exact patterns and colors, a duplicate exhibition is going on in the South Pole. Just a fascinating and beautiful phenomenon!!

Wow - what an amazing experience. I hope you get to see it again! And I hope we have more opportunities to witness the Aurora Australia’s here. I would love to visit Alaska one day too! Cheers, Christine 💙🧵🪡

Clever ideas...what I have is those 12x12" cube units with the inserts and I have small trays with the bigger pieces folded in them and underneath the trays I have all the smaller scraps and each insert has one colour in it. I have my meterage on comic boards in another section of the cube units. I have the same colourings as you but I've not kept the stripe and spots out. I also have 2 big little red riding hood style baskets on my desk one is colours and one is neutrals and this is where I chuck my bits as I go to be sorted later lol

Wow, you’re so lucky to have seen the Aurora! (It’s called Aurora Australis on your side of the planter, isn’t it?) That’s such a neat idea - you’re building a fabric library! My organisational system is… a plastic box. Which is actually three plastic boxes. And a pile on top. Which is definitely growing! 😂 I definitely need to make more.

Great idea. Started with two giant tubs and ended with a nice organized little caddy box. I used old folders cut in half as my cards with the fold at the bottom so I c Would have two sides.thanks again.

Genius! Very clever sorting & organizing scraps. Love the big clip and the card stock as board. And yes, putting it up on a shelf or anywhere where you can see them is vital. Long time ago, I heard a tip from a professional ‘declutterer’: organize everything like a kindergarten room. That is, have a clearly defined area/zone for specific tasks, have bright labels, and objects shld be visually accessible ☺️, etc. I organized my big pieces by colors & patterns too except for a pile of fabric that is all cats regardless of color😝. Thank you for sharing your tips on sorting the smallish scraps. Very helpful! Happy New Yeaar Christine, Alex and handsome Travers! 🌸tess

I just had to pause the video to say a big thank you! I love seeing how you store your fabrics! I am inspired to do the same as you do. When I had little, it wasn't a problem, but after 6 months of buying lots of fabrics, I needed a way to organise them all. So your video is perfect! ❤

Thank you so much for your lovely comnent. It’s amazing how quickly a little fabric collection can grow. I still remember the time I could keep my fabric scraps in a small ziplock bag 😂 Happy New Year - may it be filled with lots of creative joy 💙🧵🪡 cheers, Christine

I love the idea. And I started doing it however my scraps got too thick to have a bulldog clip go around. So I ended up doing my greens, but I couldn’t do any other colors cause it was too many scraps when you did do your video of how you fold your fabric around the comic book cards. That was a brilliant idea and that’s how I have my big pieces of fabric stored.

Apparently I wasn't meant to attack my small scraps pile yet, until now! Love the binder clip on board, and I have my own color spectrum already figured out. Thanks!!!

Hi Christine, this is a great system! I've got a drawer full of little scraps, one with medium scraps and one with bigger scraps. I think I'd like to organize them like this a putting them back in the drawers to keep them clean. Happy New Year! TFS 😊

Aww yes so very cleaver. My cupboard is a bit messy and um let’s not talk about the bags I take to class! lol mess and then some. Aww so cool yep I am so going to organise my fabric stash and my oh my love the board ideas these will fit wonderfully in my pull along bag with fabrics in. Thank you for sharing and yes I will know look at the postcard method you talk about, sure I have seen but forgotten, gosh this is genius. Me I have baskets and have placed my different fabrics in but this can be so messy. I have zip up bags with little scraps in this works for me but the baskets weren’t working I can see this working though. Aww I be organising one shelf of my cupboard then will move down to the next. Will do the cupboard first then tackle the class things by this time I will know what works gosh this will be fun. Thank you for this supper great idea.

Thank you Christine for your video and sharing your organisational skills. The fabric scrap on cards ,genius. I don't have a big stash yet but I will definitely use this idea and I think I will get the supplies in readiness as I think it will help to see what I do have (probably more than I think) and more importantly were I have gaps.
