From the moment Terri busts out that first "Who's that woman" you KNOW you are in for one HELL of a performance! AMAZING!

Thanks for posting this. I sat in the second row and was totally awestruck with it all. It's tough to choose a favourite number from Follies, but this is one of them and the choreography was fantastic and brilliantly executed.

Jan Maxwell's movements in this song are exquisite.

I really hope they make a cast recording for this revival. All the other good ones I can find are either incomplete or live. It was so great, I really hope they do.

I notice a lot of people are ragging on the choreography here. I saw Follies in New York last night, and I was astounded by this number- one of my favorites in the whole show! I don't know what the original choreography looked like and I am not a trained dancer, but I still got chills and understood that they were dancing with their ghosts and having a damn good time reliving their glory days. And this actress was PHENOMENAL in this number! Everyone will have their favorite rendition of this nu

Thank you so much for this video - I can't wait to see Follies in Sept.

@spaceball500 Right on point. I've watched this clip no less than thirty times, and the only thing I can concentrate on is JM. In addition to her awesome movements, I love that she seems to be having an infectious, fun time throughout the number. There's a YT clip of the 5 principles being interviewed about their backgrounds and characters in which she says she isn't a dancer. It must be that she was taken over by the muses.

The day I saw this production this number stopped the show. This video was recorded early in the run and the show had not quite gelled. By the time I saw it the number was terrific.

Thanks, really appreciate you putting this up by the way ;-) Is there any chance you have "Beautiful Girls" or even the Prologue?

@BrochtrupBean , while I agree the number is not up to the original choreography set forth by Michael Bennet, I think Sondheim's issues with Porgy and Bess are more from the fact that they are adding/rewriting the book and storylines of the characters, altering the original musical's libretto. In the case of Follies, the choreographer isn't necessarily changing the point of the number. It is still about dancing with their ghosts. But, I agree it's not the same. And it doesn't have to be.

@jerrynova14 They recently announced there will be a full 2-disc recording of the score with the current broadway cast in November!

@OndoreC77 I was unable to go to DC but a huge number of my friends went or live there and they were less than enchanted with this production, particularly Ms. Peters. I have been continually amused that teeny women like Peters and Paige are playing Follies girls. It will be an interesting season... a very overpriced one. The ticket prices have gotten way out of hand, especially charging high prices for the worst seats in the house.

I have to chime in. The original choreography is crucial to his number and what's replacing it doesn't come close in impact. The first time I saw it (in seven consecutive nights of the seeing the original cast) I almost fell out of my seat. So disappointed what's replaced it hasn't replaced it.

@OndoreC77 You are aware that this coming season has revivals of Funny Girl, Porgy and Bess [with Audra McDonald\] and a revised On A Clear Day with a perfectly cast Harry Connick Jr. This production is going to Broadway because of it's star wattage, not great reviews.

Regarding being a die-hard about the original "Follies" I've seen many productions, some excellent, some misfires. But the fact is the whole point of "Who's That Lady" is lost when the original choreography involving two circles isn't either maintained or replaced by a better idea. I think the current production of "Follies," from what I've seen, is the best. It has solved many of the problems which have always plagued the show. But "Who's That Lady" needs to be re-staged.

The idea Bernadette wasn't nice is an outright lie. Whoever this Divabehavior is, she is probably just bitter. I have met Bernadette about 30 times, and she was never anything but nice to EVERYBODY. The Kennedy Center is huge. If she didn't want to be nice and sign, she could have gone out any number of ways, even through a garage. Also, they had no security guards the two times I met her there, AND she had to walk to her car. So, if you ask me I think Divab is Patti Lupone posing as a "fan."

@waynebrasler i wish you people that harp on the original production would just stop putting this and every other production of Follies down. It's ridiculous and ludacris to think that somebody is going to mimic step for step another choreographers work. And if they did, then you and the other original die-hards would attack that production for being a simple rip off. It's obvious that you and several others will never accept another production. So just let go and stop being rude.

Wow. Vile. Because: How do I put this nicely? Sondheim writes to NYT about Porgy/Bess being altered to his arguably righteous dissatisfaction -- before said show even previews! -- and yet he's dandy with NOT employing the steps of Michael Bennett? Inane. Sickening. This version here, while astounding-ish, is shit. Period. It needs the original choreography. Yes, it does. Yes. It. Does. (Picture Music and the Mirror or Whatever Lola Wants w/ "inspired" reimagining. Vomit.)

Aw I'm a bit disappointed. I mean, Terri White sounds and spins fantastically, can't fault her, and all the other gals look lovely but often the choreogrphy for this number in Follies is a real knockout, and this version seems a bit, hmmm, lackluster?
