I've been listening to this for like 3 years and only now I come to appreciate how much details this song has. The drum fills, effects, the lyrics! Things I underappreciated of it, some reminded me of One More Hour. And the reprise jam at the end is absolutely bonkers too.

4:35 This ending is an absolute banger, but in my opinion it is also one of the most heart-wrenching points on the record. I believe you're supposed to fill in the lyrics here, and you already know what they are from earlier in the song. "Every now and then, it feels like in all of the universe, there is nobody for me." It's just the same thought on loop, over and over and over again, and you know this from the bass. "In all of the universe, there is nobody for me" "In all of the universe, there is nobody for me" "In all of the universe, there is nobody for me" "In all of the universe, there is nobody for me" "In all of the universe, there is nobody for me" "In all of the universe, there is nobody for me" "In all of the universe, there is nobody for me" I think it suddenly stops because Kevin has something else come up in the middle of these thoughts- like knowing he has to be somewhere, etc. It's truly saddening when you're going through a phase like this. You just feel alone and your mind won't let you get away from it. I think it gets more intense over time because that feedback loop starts to become your true belief and it overpowers you. I don't think the instrumental sounds necessarily saddening because at that point in your life it's almost an epiphany. Something you truly think wouldn't happen to you ends up happening and you just come to accept it. However in hindsight it is sad to look back on, when you end up finding your way out of that ditch. Maybe I'm just talking out of my ass, but I've listened to this song hundreds of times now and I can't help but think Kevin didn't just add in this section at the end just because he liked the melody (who knows though, this could totally be the case XD).

I listened to this song in my freshman year and man does it bring back so many memories. Around this time i was going through a heart break and i was struggling with my classes but i found this song and i LOVED IT. i listened to it almost every day, and just listening to it right now made me feel a feeling i never felt before, now when i listen to this song i still feel that feeling but now i also feel a feeling of nostalgia. Weirdly enough even though that was one of the roughest moments in my life i some what weirdly enjoy that time if that makes sense? I dont know but thats whats this song reminds me of, upbeat riff and beat but also with a sadder tone of lyrics exactly how my life was going at that time. This song is a song i love with all my heart, an absolute classic 🫶
