I was raised by my mother's brother and his wife from infancy. His wife nursed me back to life. They chose me and love me. After they divorce, my uncle paid child support for me, even though it was not court ordered. I was a teen mom, disappointed them...yet they still love me and never gave up on me. At 45 years old, they are forever mommy and daddy.

1 My Bonus Mother was amazing. My father was married with 9 children and stepped out and got me. He passed when I was two. I met my siblings and Bonus Mother when I was in 3rd grade. She accepted me with open arms. She treated me like I was her own child. Whatever my siblings, I got. Her family accepted me.

I had a wonderful Step-father. As an adult I did not care for him because he was not my Dad. He came to me, I was home on leave from the Army. My Bonus Dad came to me and said I want you to know that i love and only want the best for your mother. From that day he became my bonus dad and his 6 children became my sisters and brothers, we celebrate birthday, weddings, and all holidays and reunions as a family. My Mom was very dominating and tough, as years passed we protected my bonus Dad from my Mom hurtful words. They are both gone now , but we are still family.

1 I had an awesome bonus Dad! He cared for my mom, 3 brother and myself. My youngest brother was his biological son. He never made any separation with any of us. He was a true blessing and an example of a father. I have a relationship with my biological father but struggle with connecting with him. My husband and I have been married 30 years and raised his twin sister son. I also modeled the lesson taught by my bonus dad. To be inclusive and love him as my womb son. Thanks Tamala and David Mann for the transparent discussion.

WILLLLLLLIE PLEASE tell the people! People don't talk about the in-between! People only show or talk about the beginning or the end but never the middle (the process). That's what day to day people really need to see or hear. That's the part of the testimony that people need to hear. It will give them the HOPE to keep pushing and pressing. Even if it's just to the next minute, moment, or day. That's what's missing. It's so sad that if people show their truth. They get criticized from others. The ones that criticize them are not perfect either or don't always have it together. Thanks for saying that on your platform. I tell people this all the time. ❤❤❤❤ Much love! Keep doing what you doing, Willie

I have two bonus daughters met when they were 1 and 2 years old. It was rough in the beginning for about 15 years with their mom. We finally had a conversation as Adult Women in our 40s apologizing to each other for the mistakes we made in our 20s. I knew this was needed because our granddaughter was birth. I didn't want her to come into an unhealthy environment of women who should be a positive role model to her. My bonus girls are now adults and their mom is present and active I have stepped back allow them space and time they need with their mom. I'm only there we needed. It wasn't easy but necessary ❤

1 There was no step father or sister in our family. My father was the only father I knew coming up. He treated us like we were his. My mom and my sister’s mother got along. We didn’t know any other way to live other than in unity. I know now it’s because there was no lingering feeling for my dad and sister’s mother. I’m blessed and we know our family was unique for this to be back in the 80’s. Also, my sister and I have the same first name 😂🤷🏽♀️

Wow!!! we overcome by the words of our testimony and this is just that. Life is living for us all and no one is exempt. 2- is my number because I grew up in a blended family that was really dis functional because of depression, separation for so long and then because of the age gap. We lived through it because my father raised us 3 and it was literally what he said went. I thank him for being the man he was and coming through like he did. He was taken away from us way to soon by being poisoned, but God gave us enough time with him that he made the impact. Family is all we got and at the end of the day, it’s all that matters. Love, forgive, listen, respect and be honest. We will make it through. Get the help that’s given and that way you won’t hold too much on your shoulders.

I enjoyed this episode and I got from this is to be more open in expressing the moments I'm not ok, really talk more and just put the emotions out there. I have moments where I pray and go about the day, won't tell too many people the internal battles I face. One of the hardest things I experienced not long ago was my father passing away and next month will be a year on the 8th. There has been some changes since that happened and trying to navigate it the best way possible yet I have days where I get a little down and just not feeling the day, going through the motion.

I have a blended family that is very unique. My oldest son’s father and I tried for 3 yrs to work it out. It ended and he moved on quit a few times. Than he had babies with two other women thereafter. Than he met his wife now. I liked her almost immediately I wanted him to find someone he would be good to. He wasn’t that good in the beginning but NO MATTER what they went through she always showed love and care to my son. She and I became really cool. When I tell you blending families aren’t easy lord knows it isn’t but it’s necessary and can be very lovely.

I am always amazed at Tamela Mann! This is a woman after JESUS own heart! I am with her words that I am trusting JESUS, for every area and arena of my life and living! Individually we learn as we surrender our pride of life, pride of the eyes and pride of the flesh, to JESUS,(this is a daily surrender to JESUS, abiding in JESUS will way and word). JESUS is all-knowing, all-powerful, and all-presence! That is what trusting JESUS is all about, not about you knowing all the steps but trusting JESUS who has already carried you through all the steps, because you obey one simple word of JESUS: TRUST!
