Honestly, Robotnik probably killed him when he took over Mobius. The Triplets father is King of Mobius, Robotnik wants to take over the world and creates an Army, They go to War, Robotnik kills the King and overthrows his army, Queen Aleena hides away there children and goes on the run. That’s most likely how it went down.
