Tameside Moorland Fires

Since Monday 25 June Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service have been tackling a large blaze on the moors around Tameside.
Greater Manchester Police have been assisting by reassuring the public and providing assistance where necessary.
Large areas of Greeter Manchester have been affected by smoke but this is not ‘toxic’ and residents have been allowed to return home.
Additional resources from the military have been drafted in to assist.
The dry conditions are expected to last for several further days people have been told to be prepared to act on any advice.
