Shotwell is a real example of a feminist and should be a huge role model for women. Fuck Oprah, Beyonce, and other self proclaimed female "role model" celebrities..

Hos can we better use Gwynne Shotwell as an example of what a determined woman can achieve? I think this interview gives a good image of her personality. I will present it to my two girls. kzbin.info/www/bejne/aprJmo2blqmUlbs

Jake T lets keep it at that she got this far because she is smart, talented, and amazing overall. Whether she was female or not has got little to do with it, neither does whether she is feminist.

The old guy in the front row seemed to be pretty interested in a rocket capable of getting _him_ off this planet onto another. You'd think he forgotten something on the moon or something.

Zuma probably was a stealth satellite. No one seems angry and filing lawsuits. I suspect it was a classified success and we may hear more about it in 20 or so years.

20:43 That's the move I'm concerned about, especially before landing on Earth. The lateral aerodynamic stress must me immense. By the way, this very nicely produced video is the old ITS one (BFR/BFS is less than half the mass of the original ITS concept).

Kind of weird that she used the older ITS footage instead of the current BFR concept. And it's a bit disappointing that there was really nothing new here. But I guess Elon Musk gets the privilege of any big reveals later this year at the International Astronautical Congress (or whatever that big event is called). And by the way...Go Falcon Heavy! Just six (or so) days away!!!
@KnoppersBomber

Are there any updates for the BFR planned for IAC this year?
@BugRib
@BugRib 6 жыл бұрын
DevilsAvocado - I’d be shocked if there weren’t, but I guess we won’t know for sure until late September/early October. 🙁 But hopefully we get some new details before then, because I need me some new Spacex revelations. 🤤
@KnoppersBomber
@KnoppersBomber 6 жыл бұрын
Ryan Clark why would there be though? They didn't do any new hardware testing and i doubt they have much new things worth to show on the engineering side. Last update was already a big design overhaul.

I for one would like to hear details about the first Mars habitat, how they plan to produce food, water, oxygen, heat, etc, who is doing the R&D and who is funding it. It's not even clear if all this infrastructure, which is the payload for the initial 2+ flights, is considered by SpaceX as their responsibility. If this is going to happen in the 2020's, this stuff really should be known by now.

They've dropped that idea in order to concentrate resources on developing BFR.
@xlynx9

It was not dropped, as it's a customer-funded flight. There's growing talk of using the BFR rather than FH + Dragon 2. It's very likely to occur in the 2020's.

Translation: SpaceX has been given orders that they will NOT, under any circumstances, win the crew competition. Suddenly, their huge Head Start in this area means nothing.

What if SpaceX were to actually sell their Rocket technology like cars! This means sell the Falcon 9 to to private companies and allow them to bid on contracts with NASA or around the world! I mean for Space X to also sell the rockets like cars! What do you think Gwynne Shotwell?

I dream of working with spacex, but I suck at math and can’t ever seem to truly understand algebra so realistically, I’m cursed to sit and watch from the sidelines. Science and English are my strong suits, but I’m not sure how useful that would be XD.

Believe in yourself and don't be lazy. You *can* learn it. Don't leave it up to the lottery of getting the right teacher or mentor. Be proactive. Spend 30 minutes researching the right book today, and you will permanently change your future. What is there to lose? If it's really your dream, then your future self, whom you could think of as an entirely different person, deserves better than the inheritance you're offering here. She deserves fulfilment. Once you're in your 30's (give or take), you tend to accumulate responsibilities and overheads, and it often becomes an order of magnitude more difficult to find the time, funds and energy to change directions. That said, you don't need to be good at math. See SpaceX's comments here: www.reddit.com/r/spacex/comments/8el28f/i_am_andy_lambert_spacexs_vp_of_production_ask_me/dxvz58m/ and here www.reddit.com/r/spacex/comments/8el28f/i_am_andy_lambert_spacexs_vp_of_production_ask_me/dxvz7bp/

She's very effective as a 'speaker' but also as a motivator. But sadly, she's forced into the 'NASA Speak' box too often when trying too address crewed Dragon and the LACK of Progress in Allowing crewed Dragon to launch. She knows her company's bein bent by NASA. If the gloves were taken off, Crewed Dragon would already have been launching astronauts too ISS. NASA (Boeing) is so far behind the 8 ball with SLS that the only way too keep the $$$$$ flowin in is too keep Commercial Crewed launches grounded with all manner of 'issues' (ahem) with the respective capsules (Dragon/Starliner) thus concealing the fact that Orion/SLS have wasted a Decade getting not much done!!

@xlynx9
@xlynx9 6 жыл бұрын
You should be impressed, because everything SpaceX ever did, it was her behind the scenes making it happen. Elon gives her dreams and she turns them into reality. She gets the funding. She gets the customers. She organizes the workers. She delivers the projects. A lesser President/COO than her may have run SpaceX into the ground by now.
