Yes, he is definitely more intelligent. Yes, he is a visionary. But the word "genius" has a sense of exaggeration. Because what he envisioned is really just the use of existing technology and apply reusability to it. The later part of the engineering process is done by a large group of people, which he has a part to play, but not all.

I feel like at some point he said the same of Tesla, that he was in it to inspire the idea, not purely to make a profit of his own. He WANTS others to take his inspiration and run with it, because the things he is doing are for the betterment of our species as a whole. And he's done it somewhat with Tesla; other car companies are finally starting to look seriously at EVs and how to improve upon them.

I saw rockets landing from point A to point B (homing rockets) - if there is a technology to do that, just reverse and you have the technology to land from point B to point A (adding radar is also known military technology). People are jerking off because a private company did this, without noting the fact the company has government background. Elon says nothing is impossible. I'd say that nothing is impossible if you're having a government background/facilities. The question is, how did he get the access to those, as a private person :-)

How is he so humble. This dude is more important to humanity. He just launched a car that can run in space, into Space. With rockets that he can use again. That he made in his company. And still speaks in a way everyone can understand. I have so much respect for Elon. 15:30 I love you dude. Send us to mars

Look at how much more polite these reporters are than the Whitehouse ones. No constant shutter snapping, either. MUCH more civilized press conference, imho. $1/2 Billion for development. Yikes!!

It is worth it now, the Saturn V costed 1.16 billion in todays money just for one launch.
@juanvaladez30826 жыл бұрын
That’s because this press conference is a sham and all the questions are prepared in advance. Otherwise, someone might ask why we’re spending billions on sending a car to space while billions of people starve on earth.

Juan Valdez 🤨 They didn't spend billions to send a car to space, they spent half a billion (or perhaps more) to get to the point where they could send car-sized payloads into orbit. They just used a much less boring test mass than a chunk of concrete, leading to an excellent and inspiring PR stunt. Damn. I want a framed picture of Starman on my wall.

@CombraStudios6 жыл бұрын
What's wrong with 480p, I mean I watch most videos in 360p even if they're available in glorious 4k because I'd kinda feel bad for my wifi to stream unnecessarily large amounts of data all day

Would have been nice to recover the center stage to examine how it fared with all the stresses and heat exerted on it during launch. Also, sounds like they weren't able to slow it down enough to land properly. That means they still have some work to do to figure out how to land all three stages of Falcon Heavy.
@Daniel-lv8ze6 жыл бұрын
Brian Bagnall They were only able to reignite one engine out of many, so it was unable to slow itself before hitting the sea.
@juanrios65266 жыл бұрын
I’m pretty sure they still get data back from the core that they can analyze - hence why Elon said even if the whole thing explodes 20 seconds in it’d still be a success in his books
