Back after 6 years +. These are the first songs that made me fall head over heels in love with Tami Neilson. So much has changed over the last few years but I still get goosebumps every time i hear her voice. I know Tami would slap me silly for saying this but in my mind she tops Dolly Parton and Bobbie Gentry as the greatest singer/songwriter of our time. Gender and genres don't mean a thing when it comes to a talent like this. Tami blows them all away.

She should have stuck with the country side of her talent. She could have single-handedly brought back TRUE country music. Now we'll forever wonder how the world would have been different had she not missed her calling.
@tamineilsondotcom2 жыл бұрын
Haha! Glad you love when I sing country music so much, thank you 🙏🏼 However, I have the # 1 Country Album in New Zealand this week and I don’t think you can get more true country than my latest single with Willie Nelson, so… 🤔 I haven’t stopped making country music (along with flavours of other genres of great music- which is actually my calling, so I sure haven’t missed it) Haven’t stopped for 35 years (listen to my song “King of Country Music” to hear my story) so maybe it’s because country radio doesn’t play Women (only 13% of country radio plays were female artists in 2021) and therefore only a small percentage of women are signed to labels and booked to headline festivals. Maybe we should wonder how the world could be different if female artists like me were given these opportunities and it was sustainable to sing ONLY country music and not branch out into other genres to be able to make a living 🤷🏻♀️

Let me guess: Patsy Cline and the Jordanaires. Only when Patsy sang songs like this (with the band like this) it was 65+ years ago. And it was Patsy. I can't tell whether or not the very talented Tami Nielson is mimicking Patsy as a tribute to her or if this is merely a parody? If it's a tribute, hoo-rah, hoo-rah! If it's a parody, it's a damn fine one
@mercurywoodrose5 жыл бұрын
hte corrrect term is "homage", a tribute does the exact numbers, and a parody pokes fun. this is full on corny country, including the makeup on the guys and the slide guitarists silly gestures, straight outta hee haw.

@@mercurywoodrose Delany Davidson on intro and steel Guitar Marlon Williams Extra Vocalist has Albums With Delaney and Tami But is now a Solo Artist with Great Videos
@hypotheticaltapeworm3 жыл бұрын
@@mercurywoodrose A satire pokes fun. A parody is a form mimickry. Kidz Bop songs could be considered parodies, but are done in earnest. Parodies are often satirical, though. Tribute and homage are slightly different, in that tributes are more or less direct praise for something while an homage is a form of parody meant to call back to something, generally reverently.
