I know this is an older video (I watch y'all daily!) but I was so happy to see this recipe. I ended up watching it twice so I could write it down. My mama, who is no longer with us, used to make these and I loved them and never found a recipe close enough to hers but I think yours is it! Thank you so much. Made my heart happy.

I like the snack you just demonstrated, and will try it for sure. However, I thought from your title that you were going to "make the oyster crackers" themselves. : /

Those little crackers are commonly referred to as oyster crackers
@LilyOTValley242 ай бұрын
I did too. Title is extremely misleading and should’ve been changed to “how to make ranch seasoned oyster crackers”.

I was looking for how to make the oyster crackers themselves, only with no canola oil or bad fats. No spices. Especially no msg. Maybe I need to look for the “soda cracker” recipe. I can’t even find an oyster cracker cutter online. Only lattice or pasta cutters. I’m gonna have to take my Dremel tool to a rolling pin! 🤯

I've made a similar recipe using a 1-pound box of square saltines mixed in a one-pound ziplock bag. The difference is they are just left overnight in the bag to absorb the oil/spices instead of baking them. I also add a lot of cayenne pepper for heat.

We eat a lot of oyster crackers mostly in Chili and soup. We have eaten the ones from Walmart, from the dollar store and the premium brand, I think it’s Nabisco. The ones form Walmart are the worst, sort of gummy and mealy , the Dollar store are good and the Nabisco are the best but cost about 70% more. The dollar store are the most cost effective but they don’t always have them in stock.

You can also get the same effect if you out them in a large bowl and instead of putting them in the oven just turn them over a few times every hour or so for 24 hours and most of that liquid will meld into the crackers but they will be dry and delicious. Also you can swap small pretzels for the oyster crackers.

@TamiDunn10 жыл бұрын
It WILL be delicious! We did not buy the Coconut Macaroon because we knew we wanted to do a comparison video, but it can't be bad! We won't be buying more spreads any time soon though. It's just not something we eat on a regular basis. Around the holiday's, we will probably get it again.

WINTER SOLSTICE. It's the first official day of WINTER and I'm making these for a get-together of seniors. MODIFICATIONS from some other sites = SHAKE WELL the oil and seasonings in a JAR. Pour the liquid into a PLASTIC BAG. Add the oyster crackers. Add PARMESAN CHEESE. MIX thoroughly. Heat in an oven or electric skillet. OPTIONAL = SKIP HEATING and let the mixture rest in a sealed container for a few hours. Thanks,, Tami D.

Last night I was at a local grocery store which it is a chain, but they wanted $4.99 for a package of seasoned oyster crackers! Anyhow, kids threw it in the cart and mother-in-law wanted to try that. We got home I tried it, I said its like some onion powder dill weed and some type of oil we can toss it in the oven. So I guess I’ll start making this LOL. I just thought it was highway robbery 499 for a package of season oyster crackers LOL.
